Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

there's bound to be profit-taking and even forced selling in this very twitchy market

re - RKH, DES,FOGL

HOW THE SHARES HAVE BEEN PERFORMING during the last month

cynic - 11 May 2010 14:29 - 967 of 6294

and do you draw any conclusions from the above, or are they just for interest and ornament?

Master RSI - 11 May 2010 14:55 - 968 of 6294

I am not a "cynic" like you, but if you look closely......then Today is profit taking day.

and some posters were making comments about the 3 shares
really selling the other two and buying RKH was not a good idea for earlier today

But selling all of them during the day was the best one could do. But ofcourse some are looking long term.

cynic - 11 May 2010 15:01 - 969 of 6294

mine was actually a serious question, by my standards
thank you for the elucidation, but despite this very twitchy market, it's certainly noticeable that RKH is still holding quite comfortably above the psychological 200

markymar - 11 May 2010 15:13 - 970 of 6294

Been sitting here all day watching on and off hoping to buy more of theses babys as cheap as i can.

keep hoping for a good pull back on the share with profit taking but it aint happened yet.

On level 2 there are twice the sellers but the price holds

Master RSI - 11 May 2010 16:19 - 971 of 6294

After the Intraday high yesterday of 275p ( naturally a spike ) the shares are now on the way down ( YES profit taking ).

on fibonacci retracement next is 183p

markymar - 11 May 2010 16:21 - 972 of 6294

So Master you think wait till tom to buy maybe? its dropping now.

cynic - 11 May 2010 16:22 - 973 of 6294

markymar - 11 May 2010 16:23 - 974 of 6294

re - So Master you think wait till tom to buy maybe? its dropping now.

tomorrow is another day, but without further news, investors ( maybe punters ) are taking profits and large too.

profit taking takes more than just a day also, so all depends of how much is on each day and if more news come along, there is going to be pull backs one way or another, but also remember the 183p retracement is only one step, next is 156p, and so on.

cynic - 11 May 2010 17:31 - 978 of 6294

on the other hand, with confidence returning to the market with the end of the political quadrille, then it's anyone's call, with the odds now surely favouring (imo) a reversal of today's losses here

Master RSI - 11 May 2010 17:52 - 979 of 6294

Fibonacci retracement
Below prices at which point are posible bouncing back territory 184p, 156p, 128p, 88p,
the best bounce back is 61.8% retracement = 128p

i am sure you are right in your analysis, but i am sure you would also agree that charts are only a tool and certainly not remotely self-fulfilling

greekman - 11 May 2010 18:01 - 981 of 6294

Further 690,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at an exercise price of 54p per share.
Back of fag packet calculation. As they already have 174,084,954 Ordinary Shares in issue, this will be a dilution of about 1/300th.
But no doubt the doom mongers will be making something big out of it.

Balerboy - 11 May 2010 19:35 - 982 of 6294

I'm no doom monger...just a realist, until there's more good news the sp will settle lower. Cynic has rose tinted glasses on along with the other ramper on here....not marky I hasten to add.

halifax - 11 May 2010 20:06 - 983 of 6294

good news next week?

cynic - 11 May 2010 20:19 - 984 of 6294

not particularly Emu, but i am happy to sit with what i hold, and if i happen to be proved right, i shall of course be delighted
