IQE is the leading global outsource supplier of customized epitaxial wafers to the semiconductor industry.

Their technology is of most advanced like AFM means Atomic Force Microscopy and moves a minuscule cantilever over an objects surface, a sharp tip passes over dips or rises punched in the surface and reads out digital information. This technology is not going to slow down it is going to speed up and has to replace most existing forms of memory storage by virtue of capacity and size.

The future of nano-technology, these tiny/minute robots would need very small processors and most sure strained silicon could provide these.

The low share price is due to uncertainty as to when the cash will run out, but I don't think this will happen as cash is of 12 to 15M and NAV of 30p, and losses are going to drop on the next 3 month and we could have profits on the Q4 2004.

Nearly all the recent results have been encouraging. Q4 accounts are being completed (30th Dec 2002). IQE know where they stand, if things had got worse their would have been a trading statement by now, and with Amberwave (IQE's partner) increasing its Asian presence, this is a bullish trend and a good point to pick up the shares @ 4.25p

Memorandum of understanding to establish a Centre of Excellence for Compound Semiconductor technology in Singapore

Directors Share Purchases and Finance Facility - 14 October 2014

IQE plc (IQE or the' Company'), the leading supplier of Advanced Semiconductors Wafer products to the Global Semiconductor market, has received notification from the Executive Directors that they have purchased a total of 3.3 million ordinary shares in IQE plc at 12.75p per share.

In order to fund the purchase of the shares and to satisfy income tax obligations following the exercise of share options announced on the 10th October, the Directors have entered into loan agreements and have transferred a total of 18 million existing shares as security.

The Directors are required to redeem the transferred shares at maturity when the loan is repaid at the end of the three year term. Under the terms of the facility, the lender is prohibited from short selling or voting the shares during the term of the loan.

The loan facility has been arranged , and the funding provided, by Equities First Holdings, a securities based capital provider of finance for private and institutional investors.

Further rise on some good press this morning

IQE shares have jumped following the news that three of the company's executives had all acquired large blocks of the company's shares on Monday. In particular, IQE's Chief Executive Officer brought 180,000 shares, the Financial Director brought 750,000 shares and the Executive Director brought 750,000 shares. At an average price of 12.75p these purchases amounted to a total of £214,200, an impressive vote of confidence in IQE's future.

But these purchases come after a troubled year for IQE. The company's shares have fallen by more than 40% year to date and are currently trading only just above the 52-week low of 12.50p reached last week.
However, it seems as if IQE's directors know exactly what they're doing. While the group recently reported first-half results that came in below expectations, IQE's outlook remains unchanged.

Specifically, for the first half IQE reported a pretax loss of £2.3m, compared to profit of £2.5m the previous year. This loss included £4.8m of non-cash exceptionals and £3.1m of restructuring costs. On an adjusted basis, after removing restructuring costs, the group's pre-tax profit rose by 11% during the period to £5.6m, from £5.1m as reported last year. Adjusted earnings per share increased to 0.86p, from 0.79p.

What's more, on an adjusted basis, excluding restructuring costs, City analysts expect IQE to report earnings per share of 2.22p this year, which means the company is currently trading at a forward P/E of 6.3. The City has earnings per share growth of 14% pencilled in for next year.

IQE's wireless business unit renews contract with major tier 1 customer

Cardiff, UK, 19 January 2015 - IQE plc (AIM: IQE; "IQE", the "Group") the leading manufacturer of advanced semiconductor wafer products to the global semiconductor industry, announces that it has concluded successfully the renegotiation of a long-term supply contract with an existing tier 1 customer for the supply of wafer products used in wireless applications.

The new supply contract guarantees IQE at least 75% of the customer's demand for epiwafers that are produced using its metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) platform. It will also see an expansion in terms of additional products from its molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) platforms. This contract renewel underlines the strength of the long-term customer relationship that IQE has developed.

Supply against the new contract will be fulfilled by IQE's Wireless Business Unit from its North American facilities in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, as well as its manufacturing site in Taiwan.

The contract, worth an estimated US$50million plus, covers epiwafer products for radio frequency (RF) applications including power amplifiers (PAs), low noise amplifiers (LNAs) and switches used in smartphones, tablets, PCs and other connected devices.
