Downside is incredible as well ! looks like it's going down... could see 50p or even 40p grim isn't it !
We need lots of exceptionally good news and quick or we're going to be drifting down further..

skyhigh - 21 Jul 2006 08:49 - 980 of 2511

Down and down we go !
Would like to think this is seen as a buying opportunity.. but not taking the risk this time... the last time was 170p when i thought it couldn't go down any further and then it dived big time!.... looks like there's still more drops to come.

bonfield - 21 Jul 2006 09:38 - 981 of 2511

well it's still holding 80p from what I can see. There's a whole lotta shakin' goin on so don't know if it will hold out much longer, we shall see.

cynic - 21 Jul 2006 14:14 - 982 of 2511

My (faulty) memory says, insofar as charts have any value, support should be around 84 and unless the break below is quickly corrected the next support is around 50

skyhigh - 21 Jul 2006 14:51 - 983 of 2511

help ! Grim or what !

lizard - 21 Jul 2006 16:00 - 984 of 2511

that just about goes for everything in my portfolio! skyhigh. mm getting it all their own way as usual. the only thing that can bugger them up is news.

cynic - 21 Jul 2006 18:56 - 985 of 2511

sorry to be a prophet of gloom, but as i have mentioned elsewhere, the markets have been defying gravity and ignoring the gravity of the situation in M/E ...... i do not see any sustainable recovery, and probably just continuing falls until the lunatics come to their collective senses, though that will be some weeks of at best ...... it is certainly not impossible that a terrifying escalation is just waiting around the corner .... perhaps perversely, even gold has reacted $50 from its recent highs, so that may be worth a dabble if investing in something is irresistible (or Swiss francs?) ...... the charts for the indices are also worth a look insofar as they have an almost self-fulfilling logic to them.

cynic - 21 Jul 2006 18:59 - 986 of 2511

interestingly, i note that NASDAQ 100 has again just hit an important support level at 1450 ...... may be worth buying for a bounce with a tight stop say no more than 10/15 points below and consider shorting anyway below 1450, with tight stops above.

skyhigh - 24 Jul 2006 10:08 - 987 of 2511

Crikey! Good news this morning..in a nutshell...

Well 103 reaches top of first target horizon with gas shows encountered
* 2007 development plan to target best estimate gross prospective resources
of 680 million barrels of oil equivalent
It's grim no more !

capetown - 24 Jul 2006 10:10 - 988 of 2511

I dont hold these but great news for all the holders that have suffered recent falls,

good luck

lizard - 24 Jul 2006 10:20 - 989 of 2511

still a million miles off recent highs but a positive rns. bought more around 80p.

espaceman - 24 Jul 2006 11:50 - 990 of 2511

i have some at 84p 86.5 and 98p , the majority at the lower prices , lets hope this keeps up momentum !

lizard - 24 Jul 2006 12:05 - 991 of 2511

think of the poor buggers that bought at 240p mark?. i bought at higher levels than this but not as bad as that. if they can get it right???????. we should all do ok.

no more non commercial wells otherwise we are all f*****.

candolim - 24 Jul 2006 22:11 - 992 of 2511

a bit of an unexpected result today out of the blue. I am still holding a large amount that I bought in may for 2.50 per share. I also increased my holding when they arrived at 1.0075p. If I had not got so many shares, I most definatley have bought some more at .80p. well done to those who have done. They may now be on a turn around in the other direction. shares can go up as quick as they can come down. lets be brave , and wait and see. good luck everyone.

Strawbs - 24 Jul 2006 22:25 - 993 of 2511

Not sure if you'll see any big rises until things have been confirmed, but you might see a bounce if people have been shorting the stock. I don't know if the gas shows are significant, but I wouldn't want to risk being on the wrong side of a short if testing actually finds something. In my opinion anyway....

Hope you recover your losses soon.

Strawbs.

soul traders - 25 Jul 2006 11:26 - 994 of 2511

Strawbs, your opinion is good. I think ultimately that this one will be a winner.

While we're waiting, how about checking out RIFT? RNS out today confirms presence of gas in large quantities - and they could be in for a bigger net find than VOG!

All IMO, PDYOR, don't blame me! Chilled beers are in the fridge :o)

lizard - 25 Jul 2006 11:41 - 995 of 2511

i am reasonably new to vog. but does anybody know the probabilities of other vog assets being commercial. the last news was not a good start?.

soul traders - 25 Jul 2006 11:46 - 996 of 2511

Lizard, according to the recent news releases, the next prospects to be drilled are more likely to succeed than the previous ones.

lizard - 25 Jul 2006 11:51 - 997 of 2511

cheers st- hope your right?.i think it has to be successful to give the management renewed credibility!.

cynic - 25 Jul 2006 13:29 - 998 of 2511

companies do not intentionally drill dusters
