THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Ald.

At what stage in your development are you?

===============

Just pinched another list from AXDPC which seem very relevant when thinking about Georges Spending Review statement:

"Ten questions you should always ask about news, rumours, announcements ...listed in order of decreasing importance and significance

(1) What you are NOT told?

(2) Who will benefit and how will they benefit from you believing the story?

(3) What's being emphasized?

(4) How often is it repeated and from how many 'speakers'?

(5) How you are told?

(6) When you are told?

(7) Who else have been told?

(8) Where are the story told?

(9) Why have you been told?

(10) What have you been told?
"

Another, is don't believe what the "oik" says to-day, to-morrow it will be changed.

This thread used to be so much fun .

Agreed Jimmy, even more so when the knob of the year was away in France, obviously outstayed his welcome there as well.

Well said.

JB,

Thought looking at this present administration is amusing.

But happy have a smile, chuckle, or laugh at any submission, even though there is already a joke thread.

May be a relief to the present market.

I suppose Porky and Bess are a little depressing.

No he certainly was not boring and always had the punch to get away with his crazy style until he met Barrera who could take a a proper world class shot ,,,unlike Ali who had many strings to his bow Hamed could only fight one way and against proper legends it was never going to be enough... Salvidor Sanchez ,Wilfredo Gomez, Paq and all the other Featherweight greats would of all made him look stupid ,in fact McGuigan would have rinsed him too , to be fair though until he lost he was worth watching even if you were routing for the other poor humiliated soul to hit him on the chin..

He was never the same after that fight , he should have leant a lesson from that defeat and went back to the gym , maybe Freddie Roach was the only one who could do that ?

jimmy b - 31 Oct 2010 11:56 - 9809 of 81564

I'm not sure he could be moulded in to anything else ,don't forget Emanual Steward trained Hamed in Palm Springs and tried to tighten him up but his arrogance made him beyond learning.

What worth is a degree when you can earn more money cleaning toilets?

My local council is taking a lot of criticism for their rather weird pay schedules.

It seems they pay a Trainee Accountant (who has to have a degree) less than a toilet cleaner.

jimmy b - 01 Nov 2010 13:51 - 9811 of 81564

So they should ,good for the downtrodden !! must be a soul destroying job.

Fred1new - 01 Nov 2010 13:56 - 9812 of 81564

Maybe, it is the market value for accountants!

It is nice to see a coalition tory leader, Cameron signing up and joining to the future European Military Forces and being engaged in Europe.

Next to becoming a fully paid up member of EEC.

Next he will be putting forward Nick as a candidate for minister of an European State with a common foreign and economic policy.

Seems that his next move will be be agreeing to a European State.

Mind he does seem his party to the top of the hill and down again.

Or is it one two feet in and one foot out.

As a PR man, it will be interesting how he sells this deal to Cash and his fellow travellers.

Interesting to watch our man in no. 10.

Fred

If you had been listening to the new's you would know that it is an arrangement between the French and the British to save money on defence , both country's have vetoes on decisions .
