Spaceman - 06 Apr 2006 09:47 - 9883 of 24230

Morning Socs,

Nice day here in Hastings clear blue sky and not a cloud in site shame I am working but I am having a long lunch break today and having Fish and Chips at a great place in Hastings old town.

Socrates - 06 Apr 2006 10:05 - 9884 of 24230

That sounds very acceptable Spacie, blue sky here too but cold enough to endanger the privates of a brass monkey.

Spaceman - 06 Apr 2006 10:08 - 9885 of 24230

Socs, well of course I havnt actually been outside yet, I better make sure I wrap the brass monkey up before he goes out ;-)

My stocks are doing odd things today. HOF up 8.6%, why dat den?

stockbunny - 06 Apr 2006 11:12 - 9887 of 24230

Hey if it's going up don't knock it Socs!
Who cares why as long as it doesn't fall LOL
;>)

Socrates - 06 Apr 2006 11:18 - 9888 of 24230

I don't like stock movements I don't understand Spacie. HOF is possibly the first stock I ever bought but it isn't close to the float price yet. I've done OK though, what with divis and shareholder discounts etc. It would be nice to see a capital gain though.

Spaceman
Mind the seagull dont shit on your head

Socrates - 06 Apr 2006 18:28 - 9890 of 24230

Any town with a sense of social responsibility would fit their seagulls with nappies.

Now I'm for a gentle swing in the hammock on account of being totally cream-crackered. Wake me up in time for the market opening in the morning please. (Or if you're a dolly feeling frisky!)

Jeff,
its funny how visitors to seaside towns love seaguls but resident hate them ! I am firmly on the hating them side for the following reasons :-

They shit everywhere and they seem to do about a pint at a time.
They make a horrible and very loud noise and at certain times of the year they start at about 0130 every day !
They attack people! and I am not joking.

Horrible creatures.

Socrates - 07 Apr 2006 07:38 - 9893 of 24230

Ditto

Good morning one and all, kettle is on and breakfast is ready for the early risers.

Spaceman - 07 Apr 2006 07:56 - 9894 of 24230

Morning Socs,

I think I will start with a nice plate of kippers and a cup of tea.

Bit dull in Hastings today and my new PC should arrive from Dell.

Socrates - 07 Apr 2006 08:04 - 9895 of 24230

Kippers coming up Spacie, genuine Grimsby smoked ones, not those supermarket dipped things.

New PC? Doing well on the trading then?

Spaceman - 07 Apr 2006 08:56 - 9896 of 24230

Socs, they sound yummy.

PC was a spur of the moment thing, I am currently using one that is 3.5 years old and its getting a bit slow. Someone told me about a bargain special offer for a Dell with a 24 inch screen at 917 delivered, so I snapped it up. Unfortunately its not available any more but its about 350 cheaper than normal.

But when it comes to trading ...... haven't made a penny in months but then I am not actively trading at the moment, I have lost a few pennies on the bargains I bought in the past which I converted into long term investments ;-)

optomistic - 07 Apr 2006 09:01 - 9897 of 24230

LTH's Spacie, I think we all have a few of those! LOL

Socrates - 07 Apr 2006 09:07 - 9898 of 24230

I think most of mine are those, got the odd one starting to come good though.

Spacie, I think I might find a 24" screen a bit big, I have a 17" and it only just fits my desk space. I think I may have been tempted to trade off the large screen against a faster computer.

Spaceman - 07 Apr 2006 09:34 - 9899 of 24230

Socs, its a pretty fast machine as well ;-) the 24 inscreen is really nice its not that big it wider than normal and has a resolution of 1920*1200 so you can get a lot on it and the wide format is good for movies.

The PC has a Dual Core Pentium D 830 processor, thats plenty good enough for what I will be doing but its certainly not the fastest.

Socrates - 07 Apr 2006 09:36 - 9900 of 24230

Faster than a speeding bullet? Sounds fun.

optomistic - 08 Apr 2006 17:59 - 9901 of 24230

In the absence of Socco I will wish all the visitors (silent) to the cafe a very good afternoon and early evening. Bit early for the hammock bit will share a pint of Guinness with any passer by.
