PpP: Am having an exceptional week with recovery stocks, and now VLK joins the blue brigade with promise of more to come. Thanks again for the news flow - it sounds like they are in the front line for surveillance technology, at the time when it is most needed.

squidd the on balance volume making new highs again after London knocked it down means they will have to keep raising the price to get sellers to fill the buys. Its looking very strong and an upgrade to EPS forecast after profitable results based on strong order book and increased profits from the weakening pound to the dollar are due so 50p here we come in my opinon.

Would not be surprised to see a few more 100K buys at the end of the day like yesterday in the remaining time before results as I think Goldman are after another million having got about 400K to 500K at the moment.

PapalPower - 11 Aug 2005 09:49 - 101 of 301

And we are off squidd !

My target is a 2006 EPS forecast upgrade from 3.2 to 3.8 after results (based on strong order book and increased sterling profits due to dollar strength).

3.8 x 15 = 57p fair value for me in my opinon.

PapalPower - 11 Aug 2005 15:13 - 102 of 301

squidd looks strong and got over a resistance level today so will be good going into the results which are quite soon now. I added into UNG today and will add into both VLK and UNG in the run up to their results which should be VLK 1 week before UNG.

PapalPower - 12 Aug 2005 10:13 - 103 of 301

Up again today squidd all looking good. 17th is news from TAG if not before so keep an eye out for that.

squidd - 12 Aug 2005 13:29 - 104 of 301

PpP: My computer has been down, so VLK & APH welcomed me in blue on return - at a time when some of my recovery stocks are temporarily drooping. Both these shares are looking more and more like backbone shares to maintain stability in the portfolio, when others are looking uncertain.
I never did get into UNG because of the sudden jump in the spread and I was then distracted by ULT, which is looking exciting at present.

PapalPower - 12 Aug 2005 15:05 - 105 of 301

squidd check out the news on PTC today.

Been watching this and in on the news, it could fly a long way as the fundamentals are good too !

PapalPower - 12 Aug 2005 17:56 - 106 of 301

And there we go 300,000 buys at the end, if my thinking is correct then thats Goldman now with about 800K and still 200K to go for their 1 million top up.

Its simple to read and watch this one fly into the results now.

PapalPower - 13 Aug 2005 15:09 - 107 of 301

squidd we will have to see on the next holdings news was I right with Goldman or will it be the pension funds buying again.

PapalPower - 17 Aug 2005 08:14 - 108 of 301

Looks like a rash of profit taking now, the losses in the USA might make the profit taking gain momentum at the moment.

squidd - 22 Aug 2005 21:54 - 109 of 301

PpP: Had to sell my VLK holding, at a small profit, first thing this morning in order to release urgently needed funds to top up in ULT.
The battering taken by the big pharmas on Friday after the Vioxx case, looked set to continue this morning with GSK in the firing line after release of a report pointing to suicidal tendencies with Seroxat, and I thought this would give a big boost to ULT. And so it proved - was able to scoop much of the 20% rise.
I think ULT is building mostly on hype at the moment with few actual sales - would appreciate any views you have however.

PapalPower - 22 Aug 2005 23:57 - 110 of 301

squidd a profit is a profit and it seems like you made a good move with a 20% jump on ULT. The recent contract news was good but then again there was profit taking after that rise including EK selling out. If they can sustain more good news and contracts then it will move up, but like you say it could be peoples expectations of more things thats giving the second rise, so there might be a time to do some top slicing when the current rise loses momentum if no new news comes.

squidd - 23 Aug 2005 04:36 - 111 of 301

PpP: Many thanks.

PapalPower - 01 Sep 2005 00:49 - 112 of 301

Will it be results in the morning ? The 1st is the target but I would say anywhere between the 1st and 8th.

PapalPower - 01 Sep 2005 08:22 - 114 of 301

I am now looking for a good set of positive interims from BOI and UNG on the 7th and 9th of September respectively. VLK moved up well ahead of the results and should remain strong on them. BOI and UNG are yet to make their moves up in my opinion if we get good positive statements.

Comment from Robbie Burns (www.nakedtrader.co.uk)

Vislink results were cracking too but as a market-maker stock as per usual the mm's do the usual results day trick of dropping the price to get the sellers - they will start to rise it later.
