all good stuff so far, but bear in the back of your mind that things change and stock prices will ultimately get too far ahead of themselves (or fall too far in bad markets)

true, I'd rather we just stay steady for a few months around 1700p but the fact that we've had 2 down years has been weighing here for ages holding it back. Hopefully therefore just a period of correction now getting it back to where it should be.

"where it should be" is pretty subjective ...... that said, i have liked POG for a long time primarily because it is probably the cheapest significant gold producer in the world ..... from time to time, the russky hierarchy gets sticky fingers and causes trouble, but as the Hambro family have had over a century of dealing in Russia and also predominantly employ locals in their projects (i think that is correct), they have always overcome these glitches ..... nevertheless, sp will always take this "Russian factor" into account

Point taken. Spot on. Nice rise today, surprising me even. Very good long term hold.

afraid i must hold my hand up for having sold the top-slice that i bought back just the other day! ...... but that just brings my holding back to "norm" at today's price

with considerable sadness, i have now completely closed this position, albeit at a very good profit ...... sp has now tumbled about 175p in the last 24 hours and, though without apparent reason, sp has crashed through 1500 without a pause ...... it is a racing certainty that i shall be back in, possibly at 1400 or failing that circa 1300 where 25 dma may well provide support

Taking a bit of a thump but we rose rapidly. I don't think it's anything untoward and in fact probably another opportunity to get back in very soon.

Just a bit of a correction in my opinion as financials regain some strength.

i think you are prob correct, but given that $ is strengthening which leads to gold weakening and the markets in general being less than sanguine, i decided that some banked profit was no bad move ...... i still think the company is great, but as you said, it had a sudden and meteoric rise and needs to refresh and consolidate

Also the US reiterating their strong dollar policy, nothing new there then. Dollar will get sold again. Cable moved quickly from 2.10 to 2.05 but dollar weakness isn't over yet imo.
