interesting though it doesn't answer the rather idle question i asked
in fact, the history of captain palairet and stephen moulton and their rubber company (later sold out to avon) in b-on-a is interesting in itself ..... and even more so, the history of The Hall in b-on-a where sm lived

GF, keep your eyes on TTG, I have this as a potential doubler for this year.

MBH
this one has been promoted in several places of late, and it certainly looks an interesting one to follow in 2015, though the markets could be very lumpy and difficult
my only caveat is that it is MM-only, albeit that there are 6 of them, and also thinly traded with (max) lots of just 5,000 on offer

just a general caveat .....
the collapsed and collapsing oil price, linked to the slowdown in china, is wreaking havoc with businesses of all kinds across the world
a simplified example, based on a known case
petro-chem A (and a huge % of chems are oil derivatives) is priced by the manufacturer having taken into account the cost of his feedstock
he tries to sell it, but as the price of oil is suddenly massively cheaper, so is the cost to produce A, so his buyer(s) go elsewhere
the manufacturer reduces his price as he needs to shift his product
he again thinks he has a buyer, but the price of oil slumps further, so the buyer pulls out again

Hmmmmmm interesting similar to the question I was looking for on buying chemical stocks which I asked you about this weekend.
Got to know the right man to go to for certain subjects, cheers Cyners.

Think most charts will be bearish until friday and hopefully US Non Farm Pay Rolls gets the markets going again.
2nd week in Jan market tends to recover after the first week which is traditionaly the worst of the year after xmas break and big boys back window dressing.
Rally usualy lasts up until mid March.

Cynic - I was under the impression that fuel products were all bought on a forward basis which dampened volatile daily movements.
