thanks upch4rt .....
i am a fan of NXT but find it a bit too heavy even for my catholic taste
as posted elsewhere, i think this is fundamentally a much better company than ASC and i like the direction in which their fashion is now heading - i.e. much less frumpy and more like zara
HWDN is another that deserves highlighting, as its business model sets it apart from the likes of magnet, and it certainly seems to have found its niche

Thanks for the comments cynic.
NXT is doing well online more so than on the high street imo. Very popular with a lot of people now I believe. ASC has done fantastically well. NXT has as a result focused on its on line business.
HWDN is likely to benefit with the improving housing sector. That should filter through to companies like HWDN, TPK etc.
Appreciate your thougts. Thanks again.
Upchart.

Yes I agree with cyners on hwdn spin off from MFI and sold far too cheap.
NXT fine management but wondering if valuation on fundys is now too high.
A better bet perhaphs may be SGP????

Agree GF, SGP chart looks good now. Trend reversal about 3 weeks ago. Significant move up today on decent volume. Let's hope the management don't mess up like they did a few months back which hit the share price hard. Lots of ups and down to the share price, but overall trend looks positive.

i've looked at SGP a couple of times but not ventured anywhere near it as it is very illiquid; but then i steer clear of ASC too except to watch it idly
i don't really know how highly NXT's shares are valued, but as i have posted before, i very much like the direction in which the company is heading ..... their menswear used to be very montague burton and womenswear little better than m&s .... they have now smartened up their image considerably and also (a bit belatedly) got into the on-line market
===========
HWDN has an interesting concept that looks to be working well ..... their idea of working from their depots/warehouses saves hugely on expensive retail sites a la magnet
their market is aimed more at the lower end, but their range of finishes etc is not at all bad ..... though HWDN will deal with the general public, their lack of showrooms per se, makes it difficult for the laymen to visualise what is on offer and quite what they want or need ..... i do not know if HWDN also have bread-and-butter contracts with some of the bigger developers, who will place large orders, albeit with tighter margins

SGP - very very strange ..... trading volume is usually well under 200,000 but today was 2.6 million!
