BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Gordon Gekko would approve!
I understand that there is another Gekko picture coming out.

You can put any price you like on a Royal Flush when you have a never ending supply of mug punters wanting to bet against youand theres no shortage of mugs on here!

Opposite my text box it does say. Halifaxa little extra helpwho am I to argue?

cynic - 11 Oct 2010 14:47 - 3027 of 6187

hali .... your logic is not necessarily wrong, but you have been around long enough to know that markets are not logical .... you said something similar about TLW a number of months ago, but that company (and its shares) continues to go from strength to strength

hilary - 11 Oct 2010 14:48 - 3028 of 6187

That's odd. It says "Tabasco - Not for use on genitals" next to mine.

cynic - 11 Oct 2010 14:50 - 3029 of 6187

love it love it!

tabasco - 11 Oct 2010 15:00 - 3030 of 6187

HilaryI would never put anything on my genitals if I was next to yours?

cynic remember the little boy and the emperor's new clothes, time will tell.

cynic - 11 Oct 2010 16:27 - 3032 of 6187

and if one cries doom doom doom for long enough, one will also be correct, but at a much higher level than at which first voiced

halifax - 11 Oct 2010 16:30 - 3033 of 6187

cynic you may have a point as long as you get your timing right.

cynic - 11 Oct 2010 16:39 - 3034 of 6187

that is always true, and one that most of us get wrong most of the time!

chessplayer - 11 Oct 2010 17:02 - 3035 of 6187

Not today though!

cynic - 11 Oct 2010 17:31 - 3036 of 6187

again, it depends at what you level you bought .... if you had bought at opening bell, you would be losing a few pence per share at close

At the end of the day, chartists (like me) can pontificate endlessy about which indicators are doing what, but ultimately the 'trend is your friend' and is that which should receive the greater attention; a point I will remind myself of in the future!!

One thing I can't get my head around today is the announcement that the company will make a profit in excess of $1m (I suspect if it was more than $1.99m that would have been reported as in excess of $2m) and that cash has grown from $2m to $17m. I am sure there is an easy explanation, but as I don't do fundamentals, I don't really understand how such a small profit has generated so much cash. I guess I'll have to wait for the accounts, unless anyone else can explain?

jkd - 11 Oct 2010 23:24 - 3038 of 6187

pth
me too.
it seems cash has grown BY $2m to $17m, NOT from $2m to $17m unless i read incorrectly. on the question of reading incorrectly something seems to have happened to the chart price in may 2007. price fell from circa 140 to circa 48 in just one week. is this for real? or was there another reason? ie some sort of rights issue or share split or some such thing. if yes then the charts i am viewing need to be also 'adjusted' accordingly, if not and that is a genuine fall then i can feel more confident about reading the chart and its possible other technical indicators which will also have been affected.until i am able to discover then i have no confidence in my reading of the chart on a "long term" basis.
so what did happen in may 07? can anyone enlighten me please?( ive gone back to page 1 but it only begins from 07/08.although it would seem it does supercede the original thread coincidentaly also started in may 07 started on 25/5/07 by moneyplus. prior to that there is nothing.
thank you
regards and good luck to all.
jkd
ps if no one is able to help then that is ok i am always more than happy to DMOR. which i shall. sometimes its nice to share knowledge.

JKD,

Why do cars have mirrors? Are you interested in where you've been? Or are you more interested in where you're going?

tabasco - 12 Oct 2010 07:57 - 3040 of 6187

JKDif you became ill and I was close byI would help youif you were injured by a fall and I was close byI would help youif you were down on your luck and needed a few quid for foodI would help youas you have alwaysand still are doubting BLNXyou can screw yourself!
You might as well ask the stars if you believe in chartsyou can make them say what you wantmy particular star sign is saying:-
Those born under the sign of Cancer generally have good instincts, but they are also cautious and wouldnt take risks with things like money. This could be because they tend to be hoarders and have an inaccurate view of the true state of their finances.
Cancerians have powerful emotions, making them loyal friends and romantic lovers.
This can also mean they are over sensitive and take offence easily. Their excellent powers of recall have both positive and negative ramifications too, so watch out for their mean and moody sides.
A typical Cancerian is also a homebody and likes a large familyalmost accurateor is it?
Now JKDthis dichotomy looks very obvious from my sideperhaps from your side it is a little more difficult to understand?bless
Let us have this conversation in May 2011...perhaps The Royal Flush will become clearer..even to you ?
