Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

hali ...... guess(???) you're right, though quite when guessed becomes proven, i'm not sure ....

a technical report scheduled to be published by the end of the year won't now be published until the second half of 2011 because RKH's consultants told RKH that if the report was produced today the resource estimate would be about 30% lower than 242 million barrels.

hilary - 13 Oct 2010 17:21 - 3242 of 6294

Any chance of some subtitles? That last post (3240) is a load of meaningless gobbledegook.

cynic - 13 Oct 2010 17:26 - 3243 of 6294

hilary .... not worth the effort; just that MRSI has been pretty abusive during the day, casting a number of unwarranted slurs on my integrity ...... his (attitude) prob, not mine, that's all

hilary - 13 Oct 2010 17:30 - 3244 of 6294

Oh OK, cyners, thanks. I won't bother to read the rest of the thread then.

It would be nice if he could write in English though. I re-read his post half a dozen times and it still made no sense whatsoever.

Marky, is that an increase, decrease or new posi?

markymar - 13 Oct 2010 22:19 - 3248 of 6294

Harry it reads to me that thay have increased their holding, i am told from some one who went to this presentation last night in London that the Sea Lion fan may have up to 8 not 4 fans.

Also Between 83mts and 88 mts net pay modelled (best fit) about 5 kms away from sea lion location drill.

This is all Very postive stuff i dont know why we got that RNS today....still dont understand it.

One hand is doing one thing the other hand is saying some thing totaly diffrent.

Put on the AFN DES thread as a reply to agna's question over Rachel and Sea Lion, any links or implications if Rachel is a duster for DES...............

Agna, although Rachel is circa similar depths its actually younger than Sea Lion and they are not the same age.

It was confirmed with DB that the two are not one, they are separate, Sea Lion older and Rachel younger (its just Rachel has been pushed deeper to the levels of the Sea Lion fans).

Therefore any failure at Rachel should have little implication if any to Sea Lion, what it will do is have serious implications for the DES acreage again, as Liz did with the other license area.

If Rachel fails I can see DES trying the all or nothing Jacinta and then taking a break and letting RKH take the drill again for 2 wells before DES then take 2 of the RKH drill slots (to be confirmed 3+5).

Jacinta is a bit all or nothing really, so I think they will take a break and then look at Elaine and ignore for now Ninky/Anna as Ninky is too small without another find first and Anna is "that side".

So thats my guess, should Rachel fail DES will drill Jacinta in an attempt to get lucky with a high risk one and will then pause, let RKH do at least one Sea Lion appraisal in a slot swap.

I think you did the right thing agna in derisking. Ultimately if Rachel fails DES have 2 license area's with 2 failures, a lot of targets now written off and really only the high risk stab in the dark with Jacinta left to try before they might have to change targets again.

If Rachel comes in then there is reason to try Ninky and they will have enough confidence to try Anna to try to resurrect sentiment in that license area.

Really is tough times ahead for DES if Rachel fails, but going back to your original post to me, no, Rachel is too young to have any implications on Sea Lion. Rachel has serious implications for many other DES prospects, but due to Sea Lion being much older it has no implications for that, all it will mean is that the younger fan type like Rachel is not charged/charged with water or whatever if that is the case of a duster, which will put the hunt firmly on for older fans only, of the Sea Lion type.

All IMO, DYOR !

Coming back to RKH and the questions over why did they have to say that "MAYBE" RPS would downgrade, due to lack of technical information, the 2C figure - it would have been simple to say simply "The new CPR will not be ready for year end and due to this we will wait for appraisal drilling and release it in H2 2011" - but - its all to do with the fund raising imo, and perhaps something else ?

Any new investors/II's would ring RPS and ask them a simple question, "Based on your June 2010 report if you were to write a new one now based on the information you have at hand would it be the same".

The answer from RPS appears to be "Owing to the complex nature of the fans and a lack of information, poor seismic, lack of seismic, many fans as yet are not drilled into etc etc etc etc we feel that if we were to write a new report we MAYBE would downgrade by 30% pending clarification of various aspects".

As the board of RKH, would you want RPS telling this to potential new investors ? or would you clear the air (even if you disagree with it totally) and inform the market of this potential new cautious outlook from RPS but that you totally disagree with it.

This is why yesterday has seen what is described by brokers as "an unhelpful comment" but one which is purely on a lack of resounding information as opposed to somethings gone wrong.

So people may ask why to did Sam talk about this "MAYBE" reduction as there was no need for it, sorry, I think there was a need for it to stop it being leaked out in the gutter press and market rumours section by shorters and bear raiders.

Better to be up front and open and take a small hit, than to take a double whammy of short then leak then gutter press story then unable to deny rumour then more shorting and the bad vibes that would follow.

It may be that RKH have decided not to use RPS in future and to commission another company to write the report (as they have had a disagreement with RPS already over the figures as was highlighted at the AGM) - which is why the new report will come out in H2 2011 and it may be now why RPS wish to downgrade.

I would interested to know if the new report is going to be from RPS or now from a different company. RPS are one of the top dogs of independent assessors , but not the only top dog. The sudden delay to H2 2011 for the CPR, the sudden "MAYBE" reduction - perhaps we will see a new CPR by a new assessor in 2011 ? Thats a question for someone who is meeting up with the board anytime soon, will the new report be from RPS or not ?

This week was the perfect time to get this RPS nonsense out as there are two pieces of news that will blow away the bad vibes, the second is a sure fire cert to be good, the first may or may not be good.

First news = Rachel results.
Second news = The details on the new prospects and leads as was mentioned in the RNS

I have not sold any RKH, I have purchased more below 360p :) and I ain't going to sell.

All IMO, DYOR !

Hi all,

Without pointing at anyone in particular (because I'm not interested in going back over all these posts), I have to say that we've received complaints about this thread re abusive behaviour from yesterday afternoon. So, could you please stick to the topic and play nicely!

Thank you and enjoy.
