With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

Down again. You might be getting that Key Lime Pie a bit earlier than expected, Tabster,

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 08:50 - 3262 of 6187

This has some real momentum behind it now. Somebody called it a snowball a while back - it's now looking more like an avalanche.

hilary - 24 Nov 2010 08:51 - 3263 of 6187

Do you reckon there could be some bad news round the corner, G?

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 08:52 - 3264 of 6187

Could be - or maybe reality is setting in. Reality would be about 33p in my opinion. Although it may well overshoot.

hilary - 24 Nov 2010 08:54 - 3265 of 6187

By reality, I presume you mean that it's a piece of over-hyped, over-valued, jam-tomorrow trash which is heading for the knackers yard?

cynic - 24 Nov 2010 08:56 - 3266 of 6187

as it stands, the bears have it!

from a chart point of view, there should have been pretty good support at about 83 where 25/50 dma converged .... there patently was not!

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 09:10 - 3267 of 6187

Cynic - all that dma stuff is a bit complicated. Support, resistance and trend lines is where it's at. Simple and elementary price and volume. 75p was the tipping point.

This just doesn't make sense to me. They start making profits ! They beat Analyst Targets ! They just announced another big deal ! Good further growth expected both for Blinkx and the market it is in ! But the share price continues to tank . I smell a rat as it is looking very over sold now. I just can't make it out .

Gausie - i am terribly thick and can barely cope with DMAs let alone trend lines, teacups, inverted heads and shoulders and the rest of the alchemy of chartism ..... however, though i hold these, i have often commented that i do not really (at all!) understand how any internet company makes money in the first place .... that said, this one SEEMS to be heading in the right direction - no, not south! - and it'll be interesting to see the next set of numbers ..... meanwhile, your shorting looks to have finally paid off, albeit that you have made losses doing so in the recent past

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 10:25 - 3272 of 6187

hey cynic - small losses and big wins - that's how traders play.

hilary - 24 Nov 2010 10:39 - 3273 of 6187

Cyners,

Just go and buy yourself a ruler. They're around 50p in WH Smith for a plastic one.

It's all you need.

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 11:27 - 3274 of 6187

Tabby's been quiet these last few days - maybe he's browsing the ruler department in WH Smith?

cynic - 24 Nov 2010 11:30 - 3275 of 6187

most (day) traders make large losses and rare gains!
meanwhile, i have had another spiffing year overall so am very happy indeed ..... i have a 4/6 spiv shares in my portfolio of which Blinkx is one, though i have hopes for this one in particular, and am happy to hold, albeit currently at a (paper!) loss

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 11:37 - 3276 of 6187

Cynic - those guys come and they go. They never last long.

hilary - 24 Nov 2010 11:41 - 3277 of 6187

Well I couldn't care less what most traders do. Could you, G?

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 12:04 - 3278 of 6187

Huge volumes at the moment - an iceberg buying at 72 in 1300 lots, and getting filled pretty quickly.

cynic - 24 Nov 2010 12:06 - 3279 of 6187

does that mean, on your reckoning, a bounce is imminent and that therefore you have/will close your short?

Gausie - 24 Nov 2010 12:08 - 3280 of 6187

Nope - it likely means an institution is buying in and we may see either support or resistance at 72p depending on where we close today. If we close above it may be a hammer bottom at the bottom of the down channel. It's still in the downtrend until and unless the top of the channel breaks.

The price is being supported by a single (probably institutional?) buyer. Wonder how long he'll last? Is he bigger than the market?

If you get yourself a ruler, as Hils advocates, then you'll see where the top of the channel is.
