Tabby - yep, you've googled me, you've certainly quoted from the long defunct profile i wrote for ADVFN when we were getting that BB started, probably also found stuff about the companies I've started, maybe also found the adverts that Etrade ran with my picture on them - maybe also discovered some of the areas in which I provide consulting and/or training - but none of it's any secret. Hell - if you search carefully enough you'll find piccies of me as an 8 year old schoolboy - it's all there.
But you'd have to be a little bit sad to go looking for it.

tabby .... apart from the fact that, though you are not abusive, you really do take up an awful lot of column inches with general joshing, i would have thought that M&S weekly figures are not for general dissemination, even to ones spouse

Closed the lot at prices between 217.75 and 219. That selloff was harsh with price supported by fake buy orders of 100k shares - all pulled by computer just before they got hit. I think this will continue to sell off - but not convinced enough to turn short just yet. This is building an ugly candlestick for today.
Wouldn't be surprised if someone's hired an operator to dump a large holding.

Well I'm flat now so probably wont be trading MKS for a while - which means I wont be posting on this thread, other than to ocasionally take the mickey out of any 'long term' MDX holder who hangs on to the idea that his shares are worth 30p when the market says they're worth 10p.
Over and out.

ChocoI have never disagreed that there is a severe slump in high street salesthe Telegraph article that you have posted never once mentioned M&S in comparison to its other rivalslook carefully how it is worded.Marks & Spencer is expected to hold a second "one day spectacular" next month when it knocks 20 per cent off most of its prices. another 20% day is going to happen because it was so very successful and well ahead of its main rivals. please look at my posts 328... 334... 342.

What about this news item yesterday
STOCKS NEWS UK-M&S dips on report of another one-day sale
Shares in Marks & Spencer fall 4.9 percent to 207.5 pence following a report in the
Daily Telegraph newspaper that the clothing, food and homewares group is considering holding another one-day sale on Dec. 4 to follow on from its '20-percent off' sale last Thursday.
'The more of these things you do there's obviously an expectation from consumers and you're not going to get the full margin,' says KBC analyst John Stevenson.
Marks & Spencer declines to comment.
