THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Alan - you could do worse than invest in Chaco (CHP) - some good analysis on this and ADVFN site

Alan - if prepared to wait, might consider GGK. Penny share which actually makes a profit, has cash under control and recent acquisitions look sensible strategically. Not a wild gamble, so very unlikely to be a 10 bagger within 12 months, but not likely to go bust either (as many of those with 10 bagger potential do). Not really my sort of company (no dividends) but I have a few of these bought last September at just under 2p, done nothing so far. Alternatively, why not save a few months cash and buy something decent - good companies bought at or near the right time invariably outperfrom 90% of the tiny ones.

Point taken, partridge, but I have a regular trading account full of stolid performers as well as God alone knows what that my accountants set up for me as some kind of tax efficiency so I like to throw a few quid at silly gambles every month as a bit of fun, to see if I can strike gold (have done a few times) and to see the look of bewilderment on my advisors faces when I throw them a ledger with all sorts of strange deals on it and ask them to sort out the implications!!
It keeps them from getting bored.

This is NOT a recommendation Alan, DYOR & all that crap! You may hold already, if not have a go with Regen Therepeutic (RGT) a company starting to move in the right direction but, being a bio/pharma firm still a risk.

MAN ARRESTED AT DULLES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
A man has been arrested as a suspected terrorist today in Washington.
He was carrying a set square, pencil and compass.
USA police say they suspect him being a member of Al gebra and carrying weapons of maths destruction.
More later.

There once was a judge called Judge Linger,
Afore whom a court case it did linger,
Til Stanelco said
We'll settle outside, instead,
So stop talking such shit, Mr Blinger

hewittalan6 - 10 Feb 2006 15:33 - 3872 of 81564

There was a court case, rumbled on,
And caused Blinger to comment upon,
But his snipes were so weak,
They sent us to sleep,
And now hes renamed Mogadon.

I can think of loads more!!!
If I'm not sent large amounts of cash, I might keep posting 'em.

Not Enough.

There was a resident of Maida Vale,
Who should have been sent to jail,
As an insult to mankind,
He was merely fined,
A good job, cos he can't afford bail (since his shorting problems)

hewittalan6 - 10 Feb 2006 15:45 - 3875 of 81564

A Lord who thought he was IT
Upset people, more than a bit.
Till a short cost him a mint,
and then left him skint,
But me. I don't give a .......................

Sorry, can't think how to end that one.
