Symphony Plastic - anyone still in?? (SYM)

ticker - 02 Jul 2004 11:17

Has anyone any ideas as to why this stock has powered head today. I noticed that it moved slightly up just before close yesterday.

About time that it moves. I guess most people are out of this dog......

Great new RNS notfication of major US/Canada distribution partnership with DPPI today.

DPPI pay $50k now and $550k later this year.

DPPI have a 1 year option to acquire 4 million SYM sahres at 30p - which undelines the price target for this share.

SYM will acquire 25% of DPPPI which must list on US/Can market within 2 years.

So SYM cover all US/Can with no capital/initial outlay on a marketing infra structure - sounds great to me.

Should put a spark in the SP - lots of buying this morning, shares up 1.75p.

Brings a new meaning to the expression "plastic money"?

Excellent news - you could even say they had it in the bag!

petralva - 01 Feb 2005 15:10 - 24 of 87

this is great news and should underpin the current price of 1 share or thereabouts.
i think the next area they need to look at is asia and the far east, huge potential there.with this deal just being a distribution one sales have to be added to this,i wonder if durlacher will upgrade 2005 profits?
time will tell.

Queen: Since we're talking bio-degradable, don't you mean DID HAVE it in the bag - whoops!

queen1 - 01 Feb 2005 22:23 - 27 of 87

Ah, stockdog, indeed. As long as the SP doesn't melt away over time we should be okay!

watcher - 09 Feb 2005 16:48 - 28 of 87

reassuring movement over the past couple of days. At this rate the long outlook I have for this is looking rosey..

SYM going great guns. A very nice pair with SEO - both into recyclable, biodegradable plastic for mass supermarkets - a future marriage made in Coffee heaven?

I'm in for the long haul too.

What's happening to this SP today. Is the tree being shaken by MM's who are trying to stock up? Or is there some news in the wind we should know about?

watcher - 11 Feb 2005 15:20 - 32 of 87

its a shake out IMO. There has been jumps up over the last week or so a,d the potential is growing to shoot upwards now the MM's do their stuff and collect ready for the next move up.

watcher

stockdog - 11 Feb 2005 15:54 - 33 of 87

Thanks, watcher. I agree. Heavy selling into a constant price or, as here, a price which is dropping enough just to scare some of us, seems to indicate MM's collecting stock for the next upward momentum.

Since I'm in for the next 10 years, in general, any serious scare tactic is just enother buying oppportunity for me - if only I had endless dosh. Currently fully invested across a quite exciting range of movers and shakers, so nothing spare (that isn't going on SEO, anyway!).

Don't want the SP to become biodegradable, do we? Still, up 20% in under 2 weeks is very nice.

2 times 100.000 gone thru at 14.10 14.11 should it read as a sell?

stockdog - 21 Feb 2005 15:50 - 35 of 87

No - they look like buys to me well above the 21.25 mid price albeit inside the bid-offer spread. Good.

queen1 - 21 Feb 2005 22:11 - 36 of 87

SP down on the day though. Am hoping this is a lull before the next big push. Some more decent news would be good.

This RNS issued today:-

RNS Number:3592J
Symphony Plastic Technologies PLC
04 March 2005

4 March 2005

SYMPHONY PLASTIC TECHNOLOGIES PLC

APPEAL

Notification has been received by Symphony Plastic Technologies Plc ("Symphony"
or "the Group"), the degradable plastics company, that EPI Environmental
Products Inc (EPI) has been granted leave to appeal the judgement handed down in
favour of Symphony by the High Court in London on 21st December 2004.

Michael Laurier, Chief Executive Officer, said:

"The possibility of an appeal is a feature of any civil case and we are not
surprised by this development. The Directors are of the view, as they have been
from the start and as was demonstrated in the High Court, that the claims made
by EPI are without merit."

I'd forgotten about this little issue. Is the knee-jerk dip a buying opportunity or do we have a real concern the appeal will overturn the original judgement?

SD

queen1 - 04 Mar 2005 22:34 - 38 of 87

What would be the ramifications for SYM if it were overturned?

petralva - 05 Mar 2005 13:10 - 39 of 87

theirs no reason why it should, unless new evidence is provided.which is unlikely.....leave has been granted, which is normal in any process, they probably wont bother with it.
the drop in sp is just to get out weak sellers.who no nothing about the process.it will rise next weak one hopes.

ethel - 07 Mar 2005 11:05 - 40 of 87

Come on everyone...they have just signed a nice deal in Saudi Arabia....get buying.LOL Ethel
