Goals Soccer Centre - World Cup fever coming up (GOAL)

R88AVE - 11 Mar 2006 22:09

This company is the next 5-a-side generation which are generally located in urban areas of the country. At the moment there a only few centres opened throughout the UK, however it is growing. I think they are proposing to build 7 new centres in year 2007 and 5 centres this year alone.
I believe GOAL will be a potential bagger in terms of cash it will generate. I myself play at one of these centres at least twice a month. It costs about 60 to hire a pitch for one hour. It may sound alot but when divide by 10 players its 5.00 its good value and you get fit as well! At my centre there are 20 pitches at my local centre.thats already 1200 in one hour!! The good thing about these centres is that they are open virtually all year round 7 days a week. So cash generated is going to be considerable as it open more centres. The cost of maintenance is next to nothing, just simple and easy things are used nothing fancy or complicated like you see at the fitness centres. The number of staff at my centres are only small so company expenditure must be low as well.
Last Monday 6 March 2006 they announced their impressive results and is continuing to grow and already started paying dividends. They have announced new deal with Umbro for sponsorship.
As you know us Brits love football and now that there is World Cup coming up god knows what cup fever will bring to us...Play football of course!
I think the share price have the potential to grow considerably in the coming months and after the World cup

Fliper, just noticed Goal is in ex-div period will it make any difference? How long is the period normally?

R88AVE - 04 Oct 2006 13:06 - 22 of 107

Director sold 1m shares yesterday at 270p which was shown as buy on moneyam!
However he and partners are now interested in 4m plus shares which will represent 9.7% of the company.

fliper - 05 Oct 2006 18:50 - 23 of 107

Yes , but is he going to use that 2.7 mil to pay for more centres ?

R88AVE - 05 Oct 2006 21:37 - 24 of 107

Fliper

Who knows, but I what do notice is that same thing happened after the final results back in feb/march. But still share climbed.

Maybe they are paying some of the money back to the bank for the load outstanding?

stockdog - 05 Oct 2006 21:54 - 25 of 107

It's not the company's money to buy centres or repay loans with - it's the director's personal cash to do what he likes with.

R88AVE - 05 Oct 2006 22:04 - 26 of 107

And he must filthy rich alright.
Stockdog do you have any shares in this company?

stockdog - 06 Oct 2006 00:43 - 27 of 107

Watching closely, but not in. Not sure yet if ever. Also watching PWR, even less sure.

If you made a profit selling shares in a compnay you own, would you buy assets for the company or py of its loan?

Not sure what point you're making, but you seem angry. Can I help?

R88AVE - 06 Oct 2006 07:36 - 28 of 107

Stockdog, thanks but I not angry.

I am just curious which way the chart is heading I thought it was on the verge of a breakout. Maybe I am wrong? ( again)

The one thing I like about this company, is if worse case scenario comes, they have lots of land to sell which be could worth millions to developers.

Also maybe they should be thinking about expanding in Europe as well?
I think the possibilties is endless and it is going to take time.

stockdog - 06 Oct 2006 08:26 - 29 of 107

Europe is a great idea - hadn't thought of that.

fliper - 06 Oct 2006 08:28 - 30 of 107

If they were performing bad , would they be looking to open 6 more centres this year ?

R88AVE - 06 Oct 2006 08:32 - 31 of 107

Champions league, UEFA, European Championship 5 a-side LOL
But seriously though the potential is there, its whether or not they take the risk?
Of course there will some of similar kind already in placed however I think Goals can be competitive in providing better services etc

fliper - 06 Oct 2006 17:17 - 32 of 107

I see the lehman brothers are in at 5.8% holding . More are buying , they must think these are a winner .

R88AVE - 06 Oct 2006 18:31 - 33 of 107

And also Blackrock Group who now owns 12.58%.
mm... but I have been in a situation institutions buy companies share and they still drop. Personally I really dont take much notice of their holdings in company, as I dont believe in them to reflect the share price unless they are preparing a bid

R88AVE - 07 Oct 2006 16:57 - 34 of 107

Guys do you use this link?

http://www.chart-breakout.blogspot.com/

stockdog - 07 Oct 2006 20:53 - 35 of 107

interesting site R88ave. interesting comment, most people are averse to buying at that point, thinking it is expensive - that's me, I shall watch and see how many break outs come good.

R88AVE - 08 Oct 2006 19:14 - 36 of 107

just wondering how do you know when the price is exepnsive?
I sometimes use peg and for this case it is worked out at 0.51 value looking at this website.

i read somewhere to invest in shares with the peg is between 0.40-0.70 and sell when it reaches 0.9-1.0 (i think it was jim slater way of dealing shares)

stockdog - 08 Oct 2006 19:25 - 37 of 107

Funnily enough, just re-reading Zulu Principle currently - Jim Slater says buy the PEG under 0.75, preferably under 0.6. Sell on any adverse change in the story, if SP reaches an absurd irrational peak, or if doing exceptionally well with continued 15% plus p.a. increase in EPS, hold and sell when PEG reaches 1.2. Suggests a stop loss of 25% for growth shares.

Picking and buying seem to be no problem - it's selling I can't get right.

R88AVE - 08 Oct 2006 19:35 - 38 of 107

I seem to have both problem mate, so I am hoping this one is right.
the problem is when selling is pure personal greed really, telling yourself i have enough and move on to something else. I usually set a target of 10-20%. the shares has to breathe when rising continiually that when you need to sell before.

R88AVE - 09 Oct 2006 20:32 - 39 of 107

two large 't'? trade as buys went through today, what is the 't' trade? Is it of any significance

fliper - 10 Oct 2006 07:59 - 40 of 107
