BLINX and you've missed it, the next google multi bagger!!! (BLNX)

Still Waiting - 25 Jul 2008 23:22

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BLNX&S

With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

I think you're saying "This will continue to fall for an unspecified while to an unspecified low and when it stops falling after the unspecified time to the unspecified low it will rise a bit to an unspecified price that although unspecified will be markedly higher than the new unspecified low".

Is that about right? Genius!

You're wasted on shares - you should do horoscopes.

Investors Intelligence have this stock as a "candidate for a sell". Also some commentary about the general weakness in small/mid cap indices which is happening globally - http://www.investorsintelligence.com/x/marketdataindex.html?op=art&aid=66332

Auction time again

Gausie - 14 Dec 2011 15:40 - 4065 of 6187

Interesting numbers that emphasize the significance, weight and likely ultimate permanency of this drop - 360 million shares in issue. 180 million shares traded since the first big fall began.

Re: I refer you to your post 4038

No matter what you sprout, the point I make is it is not stock specific but rather general market conditions.

Perhaps you should stop getting your bloomers in a twist, rearrange your bra, and go and get yourself a new hairdo.

I'm sure it will make you feel much better.

Gausie - 14 Dec 2011 16:23 - 4067 of 6187

Hmmmm - interesting response.

As to the first part - if you believe that the last few weeks' general market conditions can make a company lose over 60% of its capitalisation in-line and without raising an eyebrow then I bet your pairs trades are fascinating.

The final part of your post is laudable - and almost horoscope like in its nature. I shall heed your advice. Do you suppose it might help me to meet a tall dark stranger?

May cover a few in the closing auction if it goes low enough - and reopen higher tomorrow

Haystack - 14 Dec 2011 16:27 - 4069 of 6187

It may be market conditions that triggered this fall for Blinkx, but it has been a long time coming. I have never seen what there is that is so special about Blinks. It just looks many ramped and hyped stocks that have appeared over the last 10 years or so. The stock flew on very minor announcements and the actual figures did not support the share price.

The same old tired comments started appearing. One particular one that I remember form the .com boom and bust was that P/E ratio should mean potential earnings ratio for tech stocks like Blinkx. Nothing changes regarding the gullibility and greed of punters. There have been masses of threads full of people crowing about all the money they have made and that they will be able to retire on the proceeds. Paper profits are like that.

This rise and fall confirms the worst suspicions about the way that the herd mentality operates.

Gausie - 14 Dec 2011 16:35 - 4070 of 6187

covered a few @ 52.5

cynic - 14 Dec 2011 18:47 - 4071 of 6187

i suspect this may now have gone low enough and too quickly, so if wall street continues to recover, there could be a nice little earner in prospect, even if only to trade ..... the long(er) term view remains with the jury

kimoldfield - 14 Dec 2011 19:45 - 4072 of 6187

Maybe the fall in sp has something to do with these figures from the last Results?

Profit from operations
6 months to 30.9.2010 $2,004,000
6 months to 30.9.2011 $1,421,000

Profit before taxation
6 months to 30.9.2010 $2,024,000
6 months to 30.9.2011 $1,482,000

Gausie - 15 Dec 2011 11:16 - 4073 of 6187

Missed my chance to reopen the 20% I closed yesterday. Was tempted at 53p this morning - but I held on thinking I might get 55. It fell away way too fast - and when a major move looks underway it's not the time to scalp.

Hey ho. There's no hurry. I banked some profit and I was possibly a little overexposed anyway.

Gausie - 15 Dec 2011 12:46 - 4074 of 6187

Super - a few away at 55 - looking for 56 for the rest.

cynic - 15 Dec 2011 13:54 - 4075 of 6187

wall street didn't, but nevertheless i did! ...... whether i just bank a quick profit or let it run a bit is still undecided

Gausie - 15 Dec 2011 14:37 - 4076 of 6187

Cynic - we're opposite sides again - I got the rest of mine away at 56.

cynic - 15 Dec 2011 14:42 - 4077 of 6187

bully for you m8 :-) ...... as i said, i'm undecided whether to hold or trade pronto

Gausie - 15 Dec 2011 15:14 - 4078 of 6187

lol - so much for "plan the trade then trade the plan".

I have a target close to 30p and a stop loss (that will lock in profit) close to 65p.

If you close your long for profit do you plan to just close out or might you consider reversing?

cynic - 15 Dec 2011 15:29 - 4079 of 6187

no, i just closed out the long for a very small profit just in case things start to go pear-shaped again during the evening

ptholden - 15 Dec 2011 21:40 - 4080 of 6187

Gausie, how much did you lose shorting on the way up to 160p?
