With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Blinkx signs partnership deal with digital media firm

LONDON (SHARECAST) - blinkx, the AIM-listed video search engine, has unveiled a partnership with Penske Media Corp., a digital media firm with a portfolio of media brands that provide original content in a number of genres.

Under the agreement, blinkx will provide channels to a number of Penske Media Corp. studios, and place contextually relevant advertising against the videos played on these channels.

One of these channels is entitled Beyond the Trailer, and presents the latest information on all the major movies coming out each weekend.

"Most moviegoers are no longer waiting for a highly anticipated trailer to play in theatres," said blinkx Chief Marketing Officer Julia Blystone.

"Our audience wants to watch the latest in entertainment as soon as it's available, and is looking for more than just a simple preview, which makes Beyond the Trailer a perfect channel to launch our partnership with PMC."

blinkx says PMC is a leading digital media company with a unique and growing portfolio of media brands that provide original content in categories including entertainment, lifestyle, beauty, and technology.

Under the terms of the agreement, blinkx will offer a number of PMC Studios channels such as 'Beyond the Trailer', which gives users the inside track on Hollywood's hottest movies and trailers, as well as audience movie reviews.

blinkx will place contextually relevant advertising against these videos.
