Petrofac - service supplier to oil/gas industry (PFC)

cynic - 31 Jul 2006 16:46

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=PFC&Si

On 3rd July PFC announced that it was trading well ahead of expectations. Not surprisingly, sp jumped but has now fallen back pretty much to the same level as before the announcement.

While perhaps not as exciting as finding the next Cairn, remember that in the goldrush days, it was rarely the prospectors who made the money, but rather the suppliers of the spades and tents and stuff - e.g. Levis if memory serves me aright.

good .... in that case crawl back whence you came

==================

in truth, if you stuck to posting your charts and intelligent comment, your stuff would be quite interesting

however, to ask you to refrain from your continual barrage of singularly tiresome personal abuse is almost certainly akin to asking a skunk to smell of roses

as i posted above ..... try to refrain from the continuous stream of tiresome personal abuse, not least when it contains much barely-disguised anti-semitism - it actually says an awful lot about your own character ......

if people wish to accept your "pearls of wisdom" then that is their option, as is their right to reject them ...... since when was it your duty to preach as if every word was "absolute truth", when in fact it is no more than opinion based on certain premises?

btw ... share price revisited under 1600 this morning

What goes up goes down soon after

and so? ...... in fact, i sold 2/3 of my holding this morning at 1604 for a very nice profit, and as a precaution against potential continuing market malaise

================

there is also of course, the argument that a well-performing share will continue to do so whereas one that "misbehaves" will also continue to do so

i suppose i have to add the really unnecessary caveat that no share or market goes in a given direction in a straight line for very long

here we go again, giving history a new review

Someone is on FIRE, call anyone with water or is a blanket what is needed, maybe a body restrainer is most likely

forget it all ........ is mad like a hatter

magicjoe - Congratulations you got the T/a spot on, sadly in your own words you don't short stocks, so what a wasted opportunity cause you have earned jack shit! Pity you have to be so abusive to cynic, I know full well for some inane reason he winds you up, take your tablets mate you are better than that. Kind regards CC

cynic - 26 Sep 2012 15:13 - 429 of 839

i see the bottom target of 1577 was hit, so it'll be interesting to see if that does indeed produce the bounce ...... my uneducated reading was closer to 1550, but no matter either way, as the balance i hold was bought at 1486

cynic - 26 Sep 2012 16:28 - 430 of 839

extraordinary number of small pi's trying to buy at the moment

magicjoe - 26 Sep 2012 16:39 - 431 of 839

Do I see someone is using my figures now suuport at 1577p?

magicjoe - 25 Sep 2012 10:41 - 416 of 430
At the moment there is support around the 38.2% fibonacci retracement as is normal for that to happen, the real support is about 1577p

p.php?pid=staticchart&s=L%5EPFC&width=50

The closing price was bid 1579 / 1580p offer and UT @ 1577p - 54p, low of the day 1576p

i confess i bought back 1/2 of this morning's sell at 1580 and now keep my fingers x'ed that the market in general will bounce, which is likely to drag PFC along with it ..... sure as hell i wouldn't have dared short the stock at any point

Stan - 26 Sep 2012 18:03 - 434 of 839

How was the US Oil Inventories release received today, anyone know?

Stan - 27 Sep 2012 08:54 - 435 of 839

Another nice win by PFC http://www.moneyam.com/action/news/showArticle?id=4453152

magicjoe - 27 Sep 2012 23:12 - 436 of 839

From the Daily MAIL tonight .......

Petrofac rose 16p to 1593p after it announced it has been awarded a £124million engineering and construction contract by Kuwait Oil Company for a new power distribution network in North Kuwait.

magicjoe - 04 Oct 2012 13:11 - 437 of 839

revisited support again this morning 1577p with all the brokers recomendations today and a round figure target of 2000p

magicjoe - 05 Oct 2012 11:56 - 438 of 839

Thats more likely

Duetsche Bank initiates hold on Petrofac, target price 1600p

cynic - 05 Oct 2012 12:52 - 439 of 839

i do not say that "all the brokers" are correct in setting a target of £20.00, but it is nevertheless curious that DB should be the lone ranger in setting it 20% lower

however, and as previously posted, i would not expect much excitement here until such a time as sp breaks into new high ground with some impetus ......

whether or not LAM should be shorted with a guaranteed stop is perhaps more interesting today .... i suspect (but of course do not and cannot know) that the comparative strength there is primarily due to some bear closing

magicjoe - 10 Oct 2012 17:00 - 440 of 839

And today had reached the 50% Fibonacci that was 1563.50p

I predicted that at post 432
