Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Balerboy,
As I can still read you posts, it means you are not on my muppet list (they are all on my squelch list).
Markymar,
Agreed. Human nature is such that rumors are spread, thats what makes them powerful and dangerous.

Hi RF,
They run a very tight ship re information. Everyone was surprised that nothing leaked out (no pun intended) from the previous drilling until the official announcement.
I presume and hope this drill will be the same, the none leaking of info that is, not the result.
As to the result, if they are as good as we hope and expect then it will really be take of time, big style. But if the results are disappointing then the sp will be knocked far more than I think most expect due to the fact that the more people build up their hopes, the bigger the knock if things go wrong.
Very important time for all holders of Rockhopper, but as far as my portfolio is concerned, I have 2 more companies that are in a similar position of being on the verge of either very good news that will set then alight, or very bad news that will drastically knock my portfolio value big time.

I'm just hoping that they confirm the existing discovery, ......not sure about the deeper part......confirming what they have should send the sp north of 300p....now anything else would be incredible....but just to put this above 300p would please me...

That's not looking good....... trying to keep the faith!
Like Greek, I could do without this going down - I just wish I had the balls to buy more but head is ruling heart for once

ARG & DES also taking a similar hit. Success looking more unlikley, imo.

Is anybody.....?....not me....still the same there is a big chance of them finding more oil as they drill through the layers.....stuck in here now and hoping for at least confirmation of the original discovery.

Read through all the rns's and ended up by buying a few more......just had to.....520p down to 224p......a bit ridiculous as just over a mile away has flowed at 2000 barrels with the wrong equipment....and could have flowed double that....for 18 hours....that's a long time.....we shall see.....

Rf,
Like you I feel there is a good chance of oil being found as they drill through different layers, as that is the way with most oil wells.
But as a realist, I look at the risk factors, which although it has been de-risked by the initial Sealion dill, it is still a risky bet.
As for myself, I feel I am as invested as much as my risk factor will allow.

Too risky for me even at this low price.

That's the final top up for me......I would have expected the sp to be above 300p right now.....never mind 225p.....

If it is a dud, rf, then the sp will tank and the recoverable reserves figure will be negatively adjusted. VERY high risk, imo and based on your previous posts I would have thought your exposure here is already verging on the suicidal!???
I have a small stake at 275p and another small stake in ARG at 40p, but that's my limit of risk here.

Perhaps not suicidal but a hefty piece of the action for me anyway.....as many shares as before the original strike....and I cannot understand all the negativity now about this....8km away they found oil linked I think to Sealion, this is just 2.3km if I'm not mistaken.....to my way of thinking there is a big chance of the original discovery of 170 million just being confirmed, more than that needs a bit of luck. I probably have one third too many shares in this for my liking but will stay put and it's not as if this is the end, ten more wells due perhaps......there is room for optimism with the whole area being drilled....
