Sold my PMA today for 91% profit over all costs (and TSX costs are exhorbitant!). My mistake not to cash in some on the initial pump spike (noted in my ledger for future reference!) as got too greedy. I will read Reminiscences of a Stock Operator once again to reinforce these basic rules......

Thanks again Bully for the heads up.

Tendrara : TE-7 Bottom Hole Pressure and TE-8 Location

Sound Energy, the African and European focused upstream gas company, is pleased to provide an update on the Company's Tendrara licence, onshore Morocco.

Further to the Company's announcement of 24 November 2016, the Company has retrieved the TE-7 bottom hole memory gauges following the open hole well test and can confirm that the reservoir pressure correlates with the gas gradient recorded at all previous wells on the structure.

The Company also confirms that the TE-8 vertical and side-track locations have been finalized some 12 kilometres to the Northeast of TE-7, subject only to consent of the Company's partners. TE-8, the first outpost well at Tendrara, is expected to spud in February 2017 and will drill both the TAGI and the Palaeozoic horizons. The Company's current internal estimates are that success at TE-8 would establish best estimate original gas in place at Tendrara of upto 1.5 Tcf gross. Prior to the drilling of TE-8, the Company internally estimates best estimate original gas in place volume of between 0.3 Tcf and 0.5 Tcf gross. Sound Energy, with its 27.5% interest in the Tendrara licence, intends to commission a Competent Persons Report on Tendrara following TE-8, which will confirm the contingent resources based on the field development plan.

The extended well test at TE-7 is ongoing and is expected to confirm production sustainability and aid field development planning.

This announcement is inside information for the purposes of Article 7 of EU Regulation 596/2014.

Very volatile since it went on SETS.

Risen 480% since this time last year, question is can it do the same next year?

Have met James Parson on a number of occasions this year, one of the nicest CEOs going. He is very good at investor relations almost too good as shareholders now expect a running commentary of the business, and its plans.

Been in this 3 years and have both shares and warrants stuffed away in various sheds;-)

THE THUNDER IS COMING!!! (NOVOTEL SHARES EVENT - 24th JAN 2017) by "fsjamescampbell"

PART 1

Afternoon Sounders, after a long journey from picking my 16 year old up from school to driving to the train station, jumping on the Virgin train, then the underground and finally walking in to the Novotel. Lauren was my sidekick for the evening and she absolutely love the event, the story and the Sound team, who I have to say, made her feel very welcome indeed. So much so, her pocket money is now being saved towards a first investment in Sound Energy shares.

I am going to pick up the story from the moment I walked into the Novotel………as I looked over I see the ever smiling and welcoming Sarah, she comes over and straight away an offer for a drink, a hug and lovely welcome to Lauren. The team are surrounded by a few investors, chatting and mulling over recent events. I spot Brian and over I go, “Brian” I say with glee, and a Franky hug later we are chatting about the Paleozoic horizon, at which point I say “you know Brian, I have had enough of architecture, are you looking for a new apprentice”? Of course all with a wry smile on my face, but ice broken and welcomes over. Along comes James, firm hand shake, the confidence and stature intact, a welcome smile and a nice warm and friendly exchange. As we are chatting he says “right, time to go and get mic’ed up, tonight is our story so far with some additional information and development of the story, we are keeping the THUNDER for next week’s Gherkin event”

Now, my jaw dropped and my ears pricked up, he was jubilant at the thought of the event next Thursday, the agenda for the evening but above all the “THUNDER” that was to come! I can’t tell you how much I needed to hear that!!!! So down the stairs we all went to find our seats and settle in to hear, once again the amazing Sound story!

Tendrara:
As we all know Tendrara is the jewel in the crown of the company assets! The story and explanations are something we are all very aware of, but last night there was a deeper analysis and a bit of the fog lifted on just how much potential this discovery has. We have to be realistic and go with the facts, of course, we have up to 0.5tcf that is fact, is there a chance this volume can grow given the data the company currently have, of course, however, this remains a closely guarded secret as the numbers are being studied, it could well be that the original estimate still stand. But as Brian put it, the two recent wells drilled TE6 and TE7 are an exploration well (TE6) that produced 17mmscfd and a field development well (TE7) that is proving to be the key to unlocking the Moroccan gas promise!

PART 2

TE7 was designed before they even commenced drilling on TE6, it was designed to prove the field development concept and indicate a clear path for future wells over the licence, its objective not only became a reality but it absolutely surpassed all expectations. The post stim flow rate was done after the clean-up phase while the well was clearing its lungs, it was opened as much as was possible to obtain a high flow rate demonstration but not too fierce at full throttle as this could potentially damage the tight sands, natural fractures and pores around the well and drag all kinds of debris and sand in through the slotted sleeves, why risk damage when the objective is to prove the longevity and deliverability of the well. It was a demonstration of the sleeping giant……it rumbled and it wheezed and it expelled an impressive early result of 32mmscfd.

The flow rate during the EWT was quite astounding, the balance between flow, volume and pressure depletion was a crucial dynamic, 40% drawdown with a pressure decrease of around 1 bar per day depleted the well down to around 350bar from its 400 plus, the pressure / flow curve being the optimum goal, the well delivered consistently over a 56 day period and has delivered amazing results, I am sure that either before or during the Gherkin event we will further learn how this exceptional well has performed! It is shut off now for the pressure to build back up. I must admit I was one of those who felt a little deflated when we got the RNS stating 28mmscfd with 40% drawdown, I like many was expecting a flow rate of over 40mmscfd. When I raised this question after the presentation during the Q & A session the explanation was like soothing notes to my ears. They don’t want to give this well absolutely everything, it could damage the future integrity of the well and hinder the future deliverability, it is a field development concept and the right result was the most important factor! Did they get the right result….you bet they did!

PART 3

What is really key is this, over the many years 7 wells have been drilled over the block, they have had gas shows with pretty much every well apart from one or maybe two, TE5 flowed at 1.5mmscfd and pressure was on the nail all the time, they only had 11m of the TAGI producing due to clogs and debris downhole so the full 28m could not flow. TE6 and 7 have been designed to “unlock the gas from the tight sands and tight TAGI reservoir” The key word being “unlock” TE1 was a very poor result and did not produce but had gas shows and at a deeper level giving rise to the depth of the potential single gas column. The historic wells were exploration wells mainly concentrating on finding oil, the method of completion choked the wells deliverability in some instances the barite used in the drilling mud was forced into the sands and fractures and cauterised the pores clogging them and thus the gas flow was weak at best and non-existent at worst, but this was not a problem because it was not the focus. They did however have gas within the logs and that is an important factor, they also had pressure data correlating to the pressures we have on the recent wells.

So TE6 and TE7 have now become the turning point in the licence, they have the golden key and are unlocking the Moroccan gas promise, that is the method that Luca derived from the historical data, the method of extracting gas form tight sands, gas is prevalent within the TAGI reservoir, that is a fact! The extraction of it has been the issue, they now have that method nailed on, the completion method and drilling techniques with the drilling mud is specifically and distinctly in place to allow a gentle and sure manner in which to extract the gas, this is what I believe to be the reason the use of the term “unlocking the Moroccan gas promise” it simply means, Sound now have the knowledge, skill and execution to take full advantage of getting the gas out of the tight sands and now they have this skill and knowledge they can build that in to the full field development…..the golden key has been discovered and they can work the wells around the TAGI performance and characteristics and are able to maximise each and every gas find, to a point, Brian intimated, that the gas is just flowing out of the tight sands!

PART 4

So to sum up, TE7 was an early designed well, it was always in place to prove the field development concept, the purpose was not to go hell for leather and get a monster flow rate for fear of formation damage and the interruption of future well extraction effectiveness, it’s all about the long life extraction in a safe and comfortable manner safeguarding the integrity and life of the well. It is very possible that years into the future when this field has been fully realised that there are many multiple sub horizontal wells, all drilled with the same technique and completed in the same manner to allow maximum extraction of the gas from the tight TAGI sands.

So where are we currently? We are on a licence with a strong history of gas shows and discovery, wells that produce like SBK1 and TE5, wells that have gas shows and current wells that are proving to be and most likely are, the most productive wells in Moroccan history! Over 300 wells have been drilled in Morocco in the last few decades and you would be very hard pressed to find one that has flowed higher than TE7, it is an historical step forward!

So moving on to TE8 and the Paleozoic exploration. This is the next key component, the purpose here is to prove gas in the TAGI as in the other wells but then side track down dip and test for gas shows in the Paleozoic, I was under the impression that it was a full exploration of the Paleozoic but again the purpose is to demonstrate gas at a deeper depth and within a different horizon. After speaking with Brian on the Paleozoic potential he was talking about how they are looking to unlock another layer, another zone of hydrocarbon bearing delights, it is a given that the gas is sourced from multiple rich Paleozoic source rocks, this is fact, but what they want to prove is any additional reservoirs and seals that would give rise to multiple and additional TCF’s over and above what is lying within the TAGI! To hear Brian explain this in detail was very enlightening. His explanation on the potential of the Tendrara licence was intriguing also, they have 14500km2 with 4118km2 of 2D data and 488km2 of 3D data, that equates to 28% and 3% respectively, of data over the licence area, so much more is to be discovered, the chances of finding more gas around the licence is really really exciting and the key component moving that forward is shooting seismic. I feel we are very close to shooting some seismic and this will be something that we really need this year.

PART 5

The current structure around TE5, 6 & 7 is one of many examples of what we are likely to have on the licence, there is nothing to suggest that we haven’t just drilled in a mediocre area and on the licence and that there are similar but richer hydrocarbon structures over the licence area. It would be foolish to assume that this is the only gas bearing zone, that coupled with the Paleozoic potential is the driving force of the enthusiasm around the Tendrara licence. The further away we drill in a sequence given studied data the bigger the field becomes, once an area like TE6 & 7 has been identified on seismic then it makes the licence more understandable and accurate well locations can be fixed. We are fortunate that there have been historical wells drilled, some around 60 miles apart that have similar gas shows, depths, pressures and characteristics but, as mentioned earlier not designed and completed to “unlock the gas” from the tight reservoir in an effective and commercial manner.

I am invested fully in the current proven asset, the confidence by OGIF to become a corner stone investor, the partnership with Schlumberger and the huge, huge potential the remaining licence holds.

The TAGI reservoir extends over the whole licence area!
Historical wells some 60 miles apart with striking similarities!
The hug Paleozoic potential, possible deeper reservoir traps and seals!
No water contact to date on any of the wells!
Multiple Paleozoic source rocks!
A proven method of the optimum manner to extract the gas with sub-horizontal wells!
The knowledge and understanding gained on how to work with a tight reservoir!

PART 6

SIDI MOKTAR:
What was really exciting to learn yesterday apart from a clearer explanation of the Sidi play and its close proximity to the power station and pipeline etc., was the concept of drilling deeper! Apparently there is an additional salt layer deeper than the current depth that the wells have been drilled to! Another salt seal that has never been drilled through! I mean, come on, how exciting it that, the excitement of drilling through that additional salt seal and discovering another hydrocarbon reservoir is very tantalising indeed, this was one of Brian’s main focuses when he was outlining the Sidi Moktar play. It certainly pricked my ears up to hear that we have a potential additional reservoir lying below a proven salt seal that is at a deeper depth than the current gas producing wells!

BADILE:
I know that PI’s have yet to grasp the excitement of what the company may have with Badile, I am in that same category and I have often not thought about Badile because we have the rich blessing of the Tendrara discovery to focus on but the explanation yesterday smacked home and added some much needed assurance as to its potential and reason this was once the company’s flagship asset.

Brian described the asset as a “beautifully formed anticlinal structure” the structure could not present a more intriguing chance of success, the COS is officially around 34% but he and the company are saying its well above the 40% mark, he also went on to demonstrate that not only could it be gas, it could give condensate and also oil, if its gas and condensate then its very close to the pipeline infrastructure and if it is oil then it is easy to truck off to the refinery that is also very close by. These factors coupled with a successful discovery give rise to celebration and another feather in the cap of the Sound Energy portfolio!

PART 7

OGIF:
There wasn’t a great deal of time at the Q & A session after the presentation but the OGIF deal was brought up. This, in the company’s eyes is a huge deal! We all know the terms, more licence at Tendrara, Meridja and the 10% relinquished standard issue now resolved. These may have been seen as a high price for PI’s but it’s the deal itself that has to be realised!
A strong backing from a very strongly structured financial organisation, backing on the infrastructure and future pipeline and another key components in the development of the story and the assets in Morocco. Having relationships of this magnitude in the country carries so much weight, we have two key cornerstone investors on board holding up to around 50% of the full shares and let’s be clear, these are holding on tight to those shares, the company stressed the fact that they are held in a tight grip and this gives confidence. It wasn’t a placing issuing 272 million shares to raise funds with the placing being set at a lower level than the current sp, it was a release of shares to a major holder who will be exactly that…..a major holder, there certainly won’t be an additional 272 million shares in free float diluting the current sp, they will be among a very strong, resilient and reliable cornerstone investor. This is key for Sound to move forward, we have a much bigger piece of hydrocarbon pie; now that is obviously the sweetest part, more of the Meridja licence and the licence area at Tendrara secured. I felt a lot more comfort after hearing this last night.

PART 8

CURRENT SP:
I agree this has to be our most painful thorn in our side at the moment but the market is the market, it is a cruel beast, it does not care about the assets of a company it is an entity for making money, devouring the weak and shaking the strong, let’s face it this is what we are all facing at the moment. Our value and our sp has dripped back. Even through strong news that has been announced, the steps that we have made and the potential that is currently being realised, all this good news since TE7 spud and we sit here today around 30p down.

Nobody can predict the sp movements and where it will be today, tomorrow or months into the future ,all we can do is believe in what we have and why we invested; invest in the story and gain confidence as the story unfolds, yes we can use the cliché of “nothing goes up in a straight line” and it is true, but we have something here, we have a rare gem, it is gradually being realised and we will one day realise a point in the story when this becomes a reality, there will be an event to coincide with this and there may be many majors looking to obtain what we have, that is the end game and James has clearly stated this over the months.

The question is, are you strong enough, brave enough and savvy enough to hold, de-risk, reinvest, top up and be on the vessel when the doors open and we have our oasis in front of our eyes. We, as PI’s are a nervous breed, we see a paper loss and we become scared and want to limit that loss, try to trade the times of volatility, but we need to believe, research, learn and have faith in what we have. We have 2 world class wells, undisputed! We have a bigger slice of a potentially rich hydrocarbon pie, a key partnership with Schlumberger, 2 key cornerstone investors and there are licences around Tendrara and Meridja held by major players who are all peering over our fence wondering when to dare to knock on the gate and enter the party!

PART 9

We will see dips in the sp and we will see highs and recovery, but that is the decision we all need to be comfortable with. Trust in Sound, believe in what you have invested in and hold strong when the tide is pulling your paper profit away from your hands think of this, if you buy a brand new car and spend 50k on it, you own it for 4 years and it loses 60% of its original value, are you happy? Yes, because you have driven the car, enjoyed the miles and the journeys, but the value after 4 years is a lot lower, do you see this as a loss? With an investment you are in a realm of uncertainty, you hope on the rise on your investment and shake at the losses, but they are not losses until you press the button to sell. If the investment has legs, potential, proof of what might be! My advice would be hold dear to those thoughts and feelings and be the one to realise the growth and gain of the asset because that is the difference between spending 50k on a car or investing 50k in a company and its assets, you always, always stand a chance of getting a return!

So on to the journey home, still buzzing, Lauren asleep on the train, I had some time to reflect on what I had heard and I realised, as an investor I have no control over the market, the sp and the daily, weekly and monthly fluctuations, all I have is the asset, my faith and belief in the asset, the company and the potential that has been outlined before me.

Am I happy and confident? You bet I am!
Would I top up? You bet I would!
Is the sp going to fluctuate? Of course it is!
Am I going to remain resolute?………………………………#unlockingdreamsinthedesert
