According to Hemscott, these are the major shareholders;

The Moore Macro Fund L.P 42,600,000 3.06%

So Goldman Sachs MAY only have sold .09 of one percent to issue the announcement.

Of course they could also have some more, but this may explain why the price has risen today.

The way I read the RNS is that GS have sold a few to take them under the 3% mark. If they'd have sold a shed load then we probably wouldn't have had the rise that we have had. Also noticed a nice 1.5m at 20 from this morning.

Just as well, all my other oils are having a very bad day. DGO, BUR, VPC and TLW al in the red.

With the amount of selling since the 1.5 mil buy, I expect this one to retrace a bit.

pt - I agree. Chart says we should definitely push on up another 0.5p this week, if not tomorrow, having broken the 19.75p intertrough resistance today. If we can beat the 20.75 resistance soon, we could go even higher.

Well a terrific day today, up .75p, quite an intraday move for SEY!

after all the uncertainty over Mauritania, post coupe, and now Eugene island, post hurricane, in comparison with our peers, SEY has underperformed, and now maybe we are seeing the catchup?

Maybe only four months to Chinguetti production, (possibly less!), and several exploration wells in the meantime, SWW, where are you?

I'd rather be in than out at the moment.

I think I am suffering from having too much information which is causing a bit of uncertainty.

When I look at my fav's, I have tons of bb's search site etc, and the result is confusion.

Best I take some time out to delete a few and go back to the odd one or two I think.

Okay I hear you all, this will do me.

Truth is I can see all is well here so I will buy in first thing and then take a few days off from the boards.

Tonight I will crack a decent bottle of wine and forget what I am doing, that will help!

They only had 3.09% to start with, so they haven't necessarily sold a large quantity, although they may have, and that may have been what has held the price back.

I was encouraged by the rise in price immediately after this was announced, one of the best ever sine I have held SEY.

Erm, I think this is a new announcent, different from yesterday, and please do not shoot the messenger.

In fact I wonder whether Amevscap have bought those shares sold by Goldman?

If they have then it could be stakebuilding with SEY as a t/o target when they are still cheaper than many others.

a couple of very large trades at 16:30 today, which taking into account yesterday's jump, and prices, I have down as two buys.

They look like two sells to me - not that that is any bother at the moment. Large stakes are changing hands at high prices and that can only be good for us. Someone clearly wants a lot of stock. Perhaps the talk of a bid from Woodside is not so fanciful after all. It would make a sensible fit and with Chinguetti about to flow now wouild be the time to make a move. Exciting times.
