Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

dc, the mother of all corrections was in 2008 (DOW went down from c14000 to c6500, FTSE from c6600 to c3600), so no need to jump ship yet!

To me a correction is after a steady rise and then you have a pullback of a sort,...we have not had any rise but a hovering around 6000 and now this blinkin' dive...damn...I shall see on opening......might have to close at least one long.....blast it.....bought a few top-ups today, but there will be no more buying from me tomorrow.....have to sit through this ...

cynic - 04 Aug 2011 17:17 - 5043 of 6294

keep an eye on the dow; that'll give you a clue

dreamcatcher - 04 Aug 2011 17:17 - 5044 of 6294

Lets hope it does not get that bad Harry. I do feel for everyone, hate to see money lost.

At this rate I shall have to find solace with a bottle of suds......imagine that you are on holiday by the pool or on the beach with no internet connection.....some people might be in that position...ouch....

dreamcatcher - 04 Aug 2011 17:24 - 5046 of 6294

Their holiday will not be spoiled. As long as it has been payed for. wow

Darling !...I'll just tip back to the hotel for a few minutes....or even worse is being on a boat out to sea somewhere...the med or at home...and when they come back to port...aaaaggghhhh....

dreamcatcher - 04 Aug 2011 17:28 - 5048 of 6294

Just think if you had the internet on the boat, you would jump overboard. lol (It is so bad you can only but laugh)

Chris Carson - 04 Aug 2011 17:32 - 5049 of 6294

If your daft enough to go away on holiday and leave open spreadbets or cfd's without stops or limits then imho you deserve to get stuffed be it a bull or bear market.

required field - 04 Aug 2011 17:35 - 5050 of 6294

I bet some do.....and even with a stop today would have seen them broken, probably way below the point at which they were fixed....

dreamcatcher - 04 Aug 2011 17:35 - 5051 of 6294

Would not know where to start, so does not effect me.

Trading on margin is very risky.....I prefer shares and then sit though the bad times, but I have about 5% of my portfolio on margin but still the same ...pretty pissed off about today's going on...

Chris Carson - 04 Aug 2011 17:41 - 5053 of 6294

rf - This to shall pass mate, stick in :O)

avsec - 04 Aug 2011 18:48 - 5054 of 6294

cynic - 04 Aug 2011 19:16 - 5055 of 6294

aldwickk - 04 Aug 2011 19:24 - 5056 of 6294

Am not buying and am not selling , the only share that hasn't dropped much this week as been Palm oil company PAL, and I have some cash coming from CEY for my Sheba shares

avsec - 05 Aug 2011 07:56 - 5057 of 6294

Cynic - I'm certainly enjoying the hospitality - currently having a lunch of Shashlyk in Chimbulak in the mountains. Thankfully no sign of yaks or camels. Just waiting for the market chaos to start.

avsec - 05 Aug 2011 08:17 - 5058 of 6294

Any more of this downward performance and we will all be able to say we bought for 37p
