DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

I think we all believe that the market is there, problem is that the Biome management could not give water away to a man dying of thirst.
With overall world revenue for biodegradable plastic packaging predicted to reach $2.38bn (£1,419,510,000) in 2014 and that in 2013 Biome's group revenues were £2.0m with £1.0m of that from the RF Technologies division, which is 1/1419th of this years forcast, they can hardly be called 'a leading company'.

Oh ye of little faith! :o) Well, never say never. If BIOM manage to struggle on for another couple of years they may still be included in the list of19 leading companies! Cue Skinny with a cartoon of a pig flying!

Talking about faith, although I am an atheist, I think there is more chance of Jesus being reborn than Biome being resurrected (well it is Easter).
As to Biome struggling on for another couple of years, now that would be a miracle.

Todays trading update.
Without knowing what profit they are making on the revenue reported it is difficult to know if they are turning the corner or not.
I do appreciate that in trading updates, profit is not usually mentioned, but I hope for those still holding, that they have not reduced any profit margins in order to be able to sell their products.
The question has to be, 'Why no RNS's re increase orders or new contracts'
Looking at the lack of interest on here, they will have to do a lot better during the rest of the year

No trades as yet all week, and yet some people still insist that there is a stake builder out there.

Ah, Kim, I bet you are the shorter of Biome shares that's causing all the trouble.
I suppose you are waiting for them to reach that old 1p figure then you will buy up all the shares and become sole owner.

Signal sign is to Quit.
Market Outlook
The system unfortunately ceased to analyze this security as of today since the data quality fell below the minimum standards for pattern recognition (that means so little interest in the share, even the system has given up).
This security will not be monitored until there is sufficient improvement in data quality. You have to sell all your long positions and focus your attention on other securities that are within the scope of our system.
Perhaps there are not enough people waking up and smelling the coffee (pods), or there again, perhaps they are.

The biggest problem with the RF technologies side of the business is they've tried to reinvent a technology which already existed by complicating matters... As for the plastics division its clear this stuff will never make it into food packaging, what other use might we have for such a biodegradable product? Their light years behind bags now and generally the consumer wouldn't be to happy watching their fixtures or fittings disappear... That said, I'm sure the bright sparks at Biome are currently trying to mass market garden furniture with their product..

Well, I'm ready to buy a shed load of shares. Daniel Stewart have a target price of £4.37 on them. They are never wrong are they? BIOM's website declares that "Biome Technologies plc is a growth oriented, commercially driven technology group." That makes it a no brainer buy then right?! (Silence) :o)
