Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Just been reading up on Argos results then in the chairmen’s notes I came across RKH mid case numbers of sea lion which have grown by about 400 million barrels if I am correct which makes it F**king huge minus the 40% means about 800 million barrels.

In the adjacent acreage to the east a successful nine well appraisal drilling campaign on the Sea Lion discovery was completed by the end of 2011, with the operator reporting a mid-case oil in place of 1,297 million barrels. The operator has stated that the field is commercial and will be developed. In addition the last two appraisal wells made further discoveries of oil and gas in the Casper and South Casper prospects and a wet gas discovery in the Beverley prospect.


PS dont tell pro i he thinks Desire never hit oil in Casper or south casper.

So, this is either going to have a major investing a lot of money with a sort of farmin (as they say), 50/50...that sort of thing.....RKH retains 50% of income or it is going to bought outright : I reckon that the more likely scenario is the former because the latter will have to be at double the present sp because RKH are most likely to gain more acreage in the event of extra licenses being granted at some stage and would not want to relinquish everything that easily......so a £8 takeover or a surge just to £6 if a big boy decides to invest !.....other views welcome on my theories....might happen very soon as a few months have gone by since these rumours...

sounds a bit sour, but i'ld guess that the company that went belly up offered really cheap deals .... as they say, very often what looks cheap is expensive

price starting to look short term toppy now. momentum hasnt yet carried it through to my target of 420sh. couple of gaps down below on both daily and weekly charts that may require filling before any new upward momentum can revert, may not of course.

edit and addition as of today i retain my long term 420 target price but stop losses are recommended until those gaps are closed

USA will buy in to the Falklands big time,the writting is on the wall,without oil it wont be a super power,US companies will buy everthing up, pull me in 2 years if am wrong. News soon.

The Obama administration is seeking to advance talks among Saudi Arabia and its neighbours on a missile defence system against Iran, while slowing any plans among Arab Gulf states to intervene militarily in Syria.

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton met for almost two hours with Saudi King Abdullah for talks on regional military strategy and how to increase oil sanctions against Iran, while ensuring ample global petroleum supplies.

Governments are under pressure to reduce purchases of Iranian crude, and the US hopes Saudi supplies can ease the transition.

The talks are occurring amid increased international concern over Iran's uranium enrichment activity and speculation that military action by the US or Israel may occur.

The US, Israel and some Arab countries accuse Iran of trying to build nuclear weapons, but the Islamic republic insists its programme is solely for peaceful energy and research purposes.

In Washington, president Barack Obama said he is ploughing ahead with potential sanctions against countries that keep buying oil from Iran, including US allies, in the deepening campaign to starve Iran of money for its nuclear ambitions. The world oil market is tight but deep enough to keep the squeeze on Iran, Mr Obama said.

In Mrs Clinton's meeting with King Abdullah, which included an hour when the two spoke privately without any aides present, they expressed a shared commitment to a stable international oil market, senior state department officials said.

America's top diplomat and the Saudi monarch also discussed co-ordination among the Arab Gulf states on how to unite their defensive capacities into a cohesive regional strategy. Despite sensing a shared threat from Shia power in Iran, wide technical and political divisions separate the Sunni countries, which span the oil-rich kingdoms of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates to impoverished Yemen.

The United States is already planning to sell defensive missile technology to the UAE, which along with Saudi Arabia ranks among the more advanced militarily. But Washington wants the big and small Gulf governments to reconcile their distrust of each other and develop a united long-term missile defence architecture.

The talks will continue at a security conference bringing together the US and the Arab Gulf states. They will also discuss UN mediation efforts to end a year of repression by Syrian president Bashar Assad's regime.

Rockhopper will announce tomorrow morning a farmin' with an Argie company "El Poco Olio".....bringing together british and argentinian companies for Falklands oil development !.
