Currently UP 13.6% today. This one could suddenly fly big time.

Still on the rise. AGM this week. Possible news from Jaguar/Land Rover or Tata, and maybe even Carraro very soon. One to watch ?

I've been holding on and off for years. So far it has always been a jam later share with more downs than ups. They're in a very difficult market with far too many vested interests in the exising technology and especially now, little appetite to switch with the capital investment entailed. Still optimistic though :-)

Bit of movement today - is this the reason? http://www.torotrak.com/pdfs/pr/FHSPV-press-release-150910.pdf

Interims on November 23, 2010. What news to come ? Lots of stuff talked about, but what will actually happen ?

Could TRK go big this week ? Watch out from tomorrow.

Another jam tomorrow set of results I'm afraid. The heady days of a decade back when TRK were going to revolutionise volume car auto transmissions have been swopped for buses and lawnmowers and volume production/take up by Tier 1 manufacturers is still just around the corner. The KERS type system sans batteries is promising, the superchargers less so. As the cash burn enables a few more years for breakthrough I'll keep my current small holding but more in hope than expectation.

So-so companies wantr to keep well clear of production, since this provides investors with real figures and either Profits or Losses (Grief they must have racked many up by now!). So any opportunity to "promote" the technology, Patents and other ballyhoo will allow the Execs to jet here and thither. Another signing (what?) and the merry-go-round gains a little speed, putting off the dawning of the Production day.
What's surprising is that anyone is still prepared to listen to these fools and wasters.
If they can't sell it to Lawnmowers, then F1 is "bargepoles" IMHO - the mechanical risks of failure being far too high . . . . and it will become World news, flashed across the World's TV . . . and TRK never to be seen again.....Yet Execs really want to smell the rubber and hear the sounds . . . and might give them a good day out...
Their loose connection with rural busses is about as good as it gets IMHO - run a few and compare fuel with existing busses over the day - I suspect in hilly regions passengers will prefer the IVT bus....for comfort - and so will the bus operator . . . ah, but that might bring Production issues to the fore....and Execs don't like that at all.
I hold a few, about double the current sp.

Good RNS today and a sharp move north as a result. The transmissions ability to rotate wheels independently will raise a few eyebrows - though what Reginald Molehusband will make of it....

This rotation of wheels - it makes parking in tight spaces easier, although front-wheel "life" may suffer if they won't be rotating. Odd isn't it that most mass-cars are FWD as this saves space, lowers-cost, etc...here we have a cheapo-motor that isn't !
- or, could it be rear-engined?, since the Indians hardly need a heater!
FWIW I didn't think India thought much about "parking" - aren't they on the go, all-day?
TRK's sp
IMHO the rise in SP is based on zero-sales as yet, and I suspect the 1st Tata-models will not be IVT since there will always be a cost-advantage in having a gear-box, since you need reverse and humans are cheaper than computers (to set the ratios, etc.). Also, I suspect farming communities will distrust IVT although it might be a winner for those used to bicycles, if they don't need to pass a full-test (say). I suspect also overheating of transmission oil could spell disaster, when the local blacksmith gets hold of the thing.
What's really worrying, incidently, is the additional CO2 that all these "sales" will create, not just In Use - manufacture as well.
"Reverse,"
EDIT: (May 2012) Sorry to take so long in replying---You need the mechanical "lever" to put the IVT into reverse (although it could be a switch?), so the floorpan has to have a hole, gaiter, etc. - hence they could just as easily make a manual g'box option for cheapness (to attract the Indian Moped buyer). I still think IVT has its uses but not in a budget motor, although bulk mfr will lower cost, there is still the complexity and mech tolerance to contend with. So much more sense in buses, where the improved fuel consumption and smooth ride as seen as worth higher initial costs....and the Depot has the right tools/experience.
TRK does not need bad customer reaction to using chip-oil fouling the mech.

Me no understand this post - IVT is a gearbox and it has reverse. The front wheels do of course rotate. See http://www.greencarreports.com/blog/1056516_video-tata-pixel-concepts-spin-on-the-spot-parking for a demo. TRK already sell into agriculture/horticulture markets. TATA is not a Co serving peasants in India (e.g. Jaguar/Land Rover) and I'm sure I'm not alone in finding the racist overtones unpleasant.

It's taken a bit longer than I'd hoped, but 'double bubble' for me now ! There's a lot still to go on this one, with big news due about the Allison Transmission deal any time (expected between now and early April 2011).

Ploughing a lone furrow here it seems but the latest deal with Allison seems to assure TRK reaching he big time. Still time to buy in imho.
