Could be heading for 6400 support both fib and on chart support here.

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 11:40 - 582 of 2763

Support on weekly chart at 6400, see bear candle 2nd week of March......

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=UKX&Si

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 11:41 - 583 of 2763

Fragile support mind.

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 15:53 - 584 of 2763

6400 approaching.

On the DOW I have support at 15,100......looks like thats gone but end of day may recover, failing that next support at 15,000 tail on 2 candles.

S@P support at 1625, looks like thats gone....next support 1590.

cynic - 05 Jun 2013 15:58 - 585 of 2763

i recollect 14750 being the number on dow

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 16:12 - 586 of 2763

More like 14,700 after 15,000 which COULD go today.

Looking at sharp charts.

Ill post it up.

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 16:15 - 587 of 2763

See if this works.....

http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24INDU

MAY 1st red candle

cynic - 05 Jun 2013 16:25 - 588 of 2763

14700/14750 = not a lot of difference, but a level at which to buy i'ld guess

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 16:28 - 589 of 2763

50 pips at £100 per pip is a bloody big difference........ well it is to me.

See what I mean about the support though on the candle base.

skinny - 05 Jun 2013 16:29 - 590 of 2763

May all but wiped.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=UKX&Si

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 16:34 - 591 of 2763

Yep looks like a line of support /resistance either side of 6400 Late feb early may.

Fingers crossed.

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 16:37 - 592 of 2763

Approx 5.4% drop from high of market to close today.

Pull backs from 2012 have been around this mark, so is it the end.

Hope so but it looks ugly out their.

goldfinger - 05 Jun 2013 22:30 - 593 of 2763

Futures now right on the 6400 support.

Wouldnt be suprised to see this go even though we are down over 5% from the top of the market.

The US indicies have lost less ground so we could see further falls.

We have support on the daily at 6375/6380 but it looks flimsy.

Looks lile I may be raiding my slush fund for the first time in 18 months tomorrow.

cynic - 06 Jun 2013 07:43 - 594 of 2763

i concur sticky .... the markets really are very difficult to read at the moment ..... one would have expected ftse to take a big hit this morning after dow continued sharply south after london close ...... seemingly not so, or at least not at the open

goldfinger - 06 Jun 2013 09:08 - 595 of 2763

RE- post 592

FTSE 5.4% off top of high for year.....

DOW 2.65% off top of high for year.....

S@P 3.12% off top of high for year......

Whats more both above US indicies well above mean for 50 day MA.

Conclusion....... their maybe further trouble ahead given that a lot US analysts thinking is for a 5% correction.

This would obviously bring down the FTSE with them.

cynic - 06 Jun 2013 09:10 - 596 of 2763

hence 14700/14750 i'ld guess

goldfinger - 06 Jun 2013 09:28 - 597 of 2763

Well thats what youd be looking at yep.

Futures positive now but we know how volatile they have been in the last 2 week.

Confidence very fragile.

Buying now is like finding 'Fools Gold'.

cynic - 06 Jun 2013 09:31 - 598 of 2763

so are you short anywhere, even if only as a hedge?

goldfinger - 06 Jun 2013 09:50 - 599 of 2763

Was on TSCO but closed 10 mins ago +44

Being more or less on holiday i dont want to have to keep checking up on screen or would certainly have been short on a few positions a week ago.

U short on anything?.

cynic - 06 Jun 2013 10:07 - 600 of 2763

only modest ASC and a small ftse .... confess i should have just sat on my hands having taken my profit the other day instead of being a smartarse, and now having a well-deserved smarting arse!
