cynic - you obviously do not have a good handle on this one then?

It is the CEO's intention to sell the Company if the Market fails to recognise it's worth.

The interims should be interesting, they arrive on Thursday.

Andy - 09 Sep 2006 21:10 - 6262 of 7811

SWW,

I agree, they need to clarify the royalty payments, and hopefully the interims will explain the payment structure better, and then as you rightly say, I hope they blow those analyst figures into next week!

georgetrio,

I first bought at 8p, and have averaged up at varying intervals since then.

Cynic,

In the immortal words of a certain John MaCenroe, "you cannot be serious!"

georgetrio - 09 Sep 2006 21:43 - 6263 of 7811

ANDY
LUCKY YOU, 8P is a very cool price, i got in at 18p,20p,then 25p but still good price

andysmith - 11 Sep 2006 20:04 - 6264 of 7811

Profit forecasts for 2007 cut by 10m by brokers consensus forecasts not helping but again more buys than sells and down she goes, 14p at this rate and that would be forward PE 13, is that about right for oil and gas producers?
Good earnings expected with interims but was that factored in before the problems at Chinguetti? The next few weeks should be interesting, as Amvescap were accumulating when sp in 20's will they be back in for more at these prices?

deadfred - 12 Sep 2006 10:54 - 6265 of 7811

andy they will be flying in imho as this has to be either some big gun pulling out or there is going to be some bounce when intrims hit in 7 days

remember this will be in profit wether 10mill is taken off or not

and with other companies drilling around this area as far as i know sey gets a cut if they find anything over a certain production level

so if hnr find somit big sey get a cut as far as im aware

so yes the price is falling but imho what a bargain if it drops more ill have to jump back in as this is a no brainer

even if there was a takeover on the horizon the price would be well above were we are just now

dyor but im a happy bunny

georgetrio - 12 Sep 2006 10:57 - 6266 of 7811

excellent opportunity to buy. lovely SEY.

mitzy - 12 Sep 2006 14:17 - 6267 of 7811

Dead cross on the chart suggests further falls in my opinion.

georgetrio - 12 Sep 2006 14:28 - 6268 of 7811

well getting cheaper, even though the company is still top banana in my opinion.
one can win when losing. strange thing. will not sell half a share to anyone. hold on tight. best luck

From yesterday's Indepenedent, a probable cause for the savage drop of the last few days.

Rumours of a very large seller in Sterling Energy sent the stock 2p worse to 16.5p. Market makers said the seller had grown impatient with efforts to place a line of stock and was "becoming more aggressive". Almost 36 million shares changed hands, about 18 times more than the average daily volume.

georgetrio - 13 Sep 2006 11:51 - 6270 of 7811

Andy
yes, i have seen those sell off. if the seller got in at the wrong time, he can only blame himself or herself. maybe he/she got in at 30p. Expensive buyers.
Patience will pay.

seawallwalker - 13 Sep 2006 12:52 - 6271 of 7811

Can't say I will be buying more till I see the results and a Broker Note.

Be nice to know who sold and why?

TheMaster - 13 Sep 2006 12:57 - 6272 of 7811

KBC Peel Hunt on Oils

queen1 - 18 Sep 2006 12:55 - 6274 of 7811

A dire sp performance today and for recent days, totally overdone IMO.

R88AVE - 18 Sep 2006 13:06 - 6275 of 7811

Found this little comment which should give some relief:

SYDNEY (XFN-ASIA) - Woodside Petroleum Ltd said its Chinguetti oil field off the coast of Mauritania is now producing around 33,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), having partially recovered production after encountering reservoir problems in June.

StarFrog - 18 Sep 2006 16:51 - 6276 of 7811

SWW - Nice link, thanks. Useful information. Interims are due out tomorrow so was expecting a bit of a rise in the sp.

seawallwalker - 18 Sep 2006 19:41 - 6277 of 7811

If it does not rise during the morning tomorrow, (11am onwards) provided the Interims are good, then I will declare this stock out of favour in my portfolio and out it vey reluctantly in favour of an in favour stock like, errr...........

Um.........

Hmmmm........

Pass.

I'm getting bored again.
