Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

technically, this is still very early days, but it's hard to believe that as RKH management is not a Timis clone, that it would be so irresponsible as to put out misleading comment

meanwhile, buyers are crawling over each other to get stock ...... without being remotely silly, it looks as though 150 will be breached by close - see L2

Proselenes - 07 May 2010 16:12 - 762 of 6294

Flying again now.

Its so undervalued presently.

Enjoy it and laugh in the face of those who said sell at 90p levels ! :) ( you have to smile )

More news Monday or Tuesday, this should be API of the oil from the fluid tests and also more info from logging.

Its going to roll on upwards !!! :)

I am sure some of the sellers wish DID NOT at this point

required field - 07 May 2010 16:18 - 764 of 6294

At the moment I'm pondering whether to come back in again....but at these levels....and the market is plunging......this is now worth 400 million plus....without testing !...is it me ?....perhaps I'm nuts....

cynic - 07 May 2010 16:25 - 765 of 6294

impossible to tell what is right move ..... it's not so bad if you already have a core with which to balance ...... if i were you, i think i'ld be inclined to buy a few DES as it is looking better value

required field - 07 May 2010 16:28 - 766 of 6294

Still have some...but at a loss...staying put on that one....bad luck for me the 2nd rns...never have thought that it would hit these levels...

halifax - 07 May 2010 16:29 - 767 of 6294

rf RKH has 174m shares issued which means their market cap is only 250m looks pretty cheap if their discovery is worth 1billion.

cynic - 07 May 2010 16:31 - 768 of 6294

except that is predicated on a guesstimated valuation

halifax - 07 May 2010 16:33 - 769 of 6294

cynic same as GKP,TLW etc then.

required field - 07 May 2010 16:33 - 770 of 6294

This is ridiculous....there is a big difference between GKP and RKP....one had big flows the other just says well it's there but we'll come back later...

required field - 07 May 2010 16:37 - 771 of 6294

Well done those who had the faith to remain in...I'll just have to wait for some retreat of some kind and ponder if it's worth another punt.

avsec - 07 May 2010 16:40 - 772 of 6294

Bought originally with a bonus year ending '05 and topped up exactly a year (-a week) ago @17.9!

Haven't sold a single one yet! Bring it on!

halifax - 07 May 2010 16:43 - 773 of 6294

rf BLT will know whether its there or not, cynic has already raised the question of misleading RNS's do the directors wish to end up in court? It is interesting that the actual drilling time taken to make this discovery was far shorter than originally forecast as all seems to have been more straightforward than DES''s Liz well.

required field - 07 May 2010 16:47 - 774 of 6294

Yes...good result...but no testing...I thought that was that...on to the next well...and that it would be weeks before another rns would be issued and had visions of the sp retreating to 70 or 80p...and that's double what it was....to make matters worse AFR and a lot of others are down....damn...I better go and have a bath and drown the plastic duck...

cynic - 07 May 2010 16:51 - 775 of 6294

and wall street is "tout sur le magasin" = dog french for all over the shop! .... it had been down about 200 at 10239, but is now back up to 10450, but zipping all over the place

halifax - 07 May 2010 16:53 - 776 of 6294

yes traders love volatilty.

cynic - 07 May 2010 17:01 - 777 of 6294

i posted that here more to highlight that this mega-volatility is affecting markets in general ...... once things settle down again, and there are several reasons why that might happen quite quickly, then some of the stocks that have been slammed for no good reason, will have a chance to recover

halifax - 07 May 2010 17:04 - 778 of 6294

cynic agree there are some bargains available at the moment.

cynic - 07 May 2010 17:06 - 779 of 6294

there will have been a huge amount of forced closing ..... RKH/DES have certainly saved my bacon these last couple of days

required field - 07 May 2010 17:17 - 780 of 6294

I'm moaning but I bet that some people sold out at 40p or so.....I'm gutted but how do you describe what they must feel ?....these markets are crazy....
