Nosta Terra Oil & Gas Boosted By Early Success In Kansas

Shares in Nostra Terra Oil & Gas enjoyed a mighty surge this week after the AIM small cap announced it is within weeks of first production from its recently acquired assets in Kansas. This summer the company spent around US$1 million on four oil and gas properties in the US after its project in Ukraine ran into difficulties, prompting the AIM firm to shift the balance of its investments to more politically accommodating parts of the world. This shift, spearheaded by new CEO Matt Lofgran, was made possible by the downturn of the past year, which created opportunities to pick up assets in areas that were previously deemed prohibitively expensive.

In July the company acquired a 50 per cent working interest in the Koelsch and Bloom fields in Russell County, Kansas, and a 25 per cent interest in the Hoffman field in Barton and Russell Counties. The following month it acquired a 50 per cent working interest in ten production wells and one salt water disposal well in the Boxberger field, also in Russell County. All the assets were acquired from Hewitt Petroleum, Inc, which remains a partner, and meet the companys criteria of buying proven producing assets with significant overlooked reserves in previously untapped zones.

The Boxberger property is the priority project, as it offers the fastest route to first production. The property carries 1.69

skyhigh - 19 Oct 2009 08:56 - 64 of 202

Good start to the week!....check out SOLO... it could do well also (imho, dyor)

Andy - 19 Oct 2009 09:19 - 65 of 202

skyhigh,

Yes NTOG start of production has really woken the Sp up!

Flowrates are still unknown of course, but with more wells due online soon, the current rise is probably justified, IMO.

SOLO awaiting announcement of a deal aparently, though this has been in the market for a while now, but no RNS yet....

cynic - 19 Oct 2009 13:18 - 68 of 202

and don't forget to bank at least some profits ...... any sign of selling, and you'll get flayed alive, as is so often the case with these amoeba companies into which all the lemmings jump

Balerboy - 20 Oct 2009 08:18 - 69 of 202

Look at this one breaking through the 1p mark, hope it can hold on to it.:)

Mr Turbot - 20 Oct 2009 13:54 - 70 of 202

Up to 1.5P this afternoon. Any news?

Balerboy - 20 Oct 2009 14:24 - 71 of 202

Top sliced at 1.25p too early it would seem..

cynic - 20 Oct 2009 18:00 - 72 of 202

not really ..... no one ever went broke by taking a profit ..... this is definitely plankton country and sp can dive even more quickly than it happened to rise today ...... there is no news apart from a list of major shareholders - a lot of institutional holding, but in monetary terms, that's relatively bugger all - and wowee!, they've relaunched their website

Balerboy - 20 Oct 2009 22:06 - 73 of 202

am out now with the other 50% at 1.65p nice profit towards pci. :))

Oh...one more thing I forgot to mention.

The wording of the RNS had left me with just a tad of doubt in my mind as to whether the two "new" reservoirs were true "discoveries" or whether they had just "never been produced before" (....but perhaps already known about and therefore already included in the overall oil reserves ?).

some of you may have harboured the same niggling doubt perhaps ?

Anyway, if you did, I can put you out of your misery. The two "new" reservoirs are indeed true discoveries and anything in there is ADDITIONAL to the reserves stated in the RNS of 2/9.

Regards
Spike
