Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

What about this one
What are the two characteristics of civil servants?
Friendliness and efficiency
Long holidays and quick service
Political neutrality and professionalism
Political correctness and slow but careful service

How about "how many hours" a week does the average MP attend the HP?
How many weeks of the year are the HP sittings.?
What are their hourly rate for doing so?
How many MPs are part timers?
What are their pension contribution.
How much payment to the receive from "lobbying".

Conspiracy theorists.
Did the police deliberately commit insufficient police to high light the possible effects of police cut backs?
Just pub talk.
Or is in hope of increased legislation to crack down on future demonstrations?
Must go to that pub again.

Why don't you ask your Labour MP ? Do you still have one. Clair Short was one of those who didn't sell out to New Labour not like perma tan Peter Hain , put a lot of weight on since selling out.

The answer, as usual shows your obvious level of humour and sophistication.
It reminds me of trying to work out the difference between politcal beliefs and delusions.
Hold on to your gold, I think you may need it.

No answer then Fred. With your poor investment record I don't think I will be taking your advice about holding Gold or not.

Is aacs,,
I am congratulating somebody.
Your leave my friend alone.
==========
Reminds me of a little Irish gardener who worked for me. (About 5'2'' and when sober and the going was good could demolish a garden in half and hour.)
He had a great liking for his beverage and occasionally turned up on a Monday with a black eye etc..
Always use to ask him, what he had been up to and why.
His usual answer was "that the "fight" hadn't been his fault, but "they" had picked on his friend and he had to help him".
Asked why he went out with his friend so often, he would answer that nobody else would drink with his pal.
A lovely good natured man when sober.

Tip for Ald,
If you write down what you say, or do, you are less likely to repeat yourself.
If I could spell it, perhaps Alzheimers may have set in for you.
Just trying to help you.

This is me,
Good idea. I said few weeks ago that I would just ignore him, breaking my own rule a couple of days ago, just to see if he could put his points without going totally off track again. But as you say his posts are again not worth reading as no matter what anyone posts he will argue the opposite. On its own, I have no problem with that, but he has gone back to posting drivel again, just to rile people up. That is obviously his main aim. So like you I am squelching him. Problem is if others do not ignore him like I started too, all we will see are posts referring to him (a bit like this one, but this will be my last). He has totally ruined, what was once a very good board.
So a question for all. Do you want A This drivel to continue or B Do you want a board that is a platform for good honest debate, with the odd bit of humor thrown in along with just interesting facts/comments.
If you want the latter you know what to do.
To those who feel that I am trying to stifle open debate please before you judge, just read through the last few weeks (if you can be bothered to wade through) and see how Fred's posts are slanted toward None Answers. Then go back pre Fred and compare.

Greek,
That is a pity.
I enjoyed some of your "rants."
But thought a grown man should be able to tolerate being challenged.
