Sounds nice! My local baker sells them or at least uesd to, had a sugary sort of icing on top. Not had one in years. May have to change that though!

Prop, agree buy and hold. Thats my strategy, especially on oil shares. Said this on the PCI thread before, that the problem when trying to trade a share like this is that news can come out at any time eg - drilling update, new licences etc. Even more so when the company is in a period of significant newsflow such as we are here. When news comes out and if it's good, then there is the stampede to get back in and the sp has already been marked up so buyers pay more to get back on board. From my point of view, would much rather be in than try to make a few pennies by trading. Each to their own though.

proptrade - 26 Oct 2004 10:38 - 1042 of 7811

absolutely. i am not going to preach the value investor approach when it comes to SEY (because by definition it doesn't apply) but you kind of have to have a similar strategy..ie you buy into the potential idea and hold for the duration (and beyond if you believe enough in the integrety and ability of management).

Greetings happy holders,
Have been tuning in to your posts for some time now. Finally jumped on board yesterday following the news of the proposed African deal. Badly timed - bought at the top of the shop @ 20.45. Dammit. Still, if the price continues to move forward this will be history in a few weeks time.

proptrade - 26 Oct 2004 11:02 - 1044 of 7811

just your name alone makes you suited to this thread. we are trading a little tadpole at the moment. be patient, we are all holding until way north of 20.45...maybe look to average down in this consolidation phase.

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 11:08 - 1045 of 7811

Hardman have produced a trading staement, which I have posted on that thread which gives a full update of where they are with the drilling.

I am not going to post it here as there are a number irrelevencies to this stock.

For interest sake, it is worth a read.

Welcome aboard Pond Life. All welcome to join in this party!

Prop, I would have seen this as more of a growth company which again goes back to the buy and hold strategy. You believe in what the company is doing and where it is going over the medium to long term. It's good to look back and see where we have came from, but it's better to look ahead and see where we are going here. You make a very valid point re the management, and I'm sure we wll agree here that the team here are excellent.

Looking at some numbers again. Sales in 2003 of 5.5m, 2004E of 14.2m and 2005E of 31.2m. Pre tax profit of 1.6m to rise to 14.3m in 2005E and EPS of 0.33p 2003 rising to 2005E of 1.23p. Of course, none of that factors in any new potential West African deal. Figures from Evo's last broker note.

Happy days here.

proptrade - 26 Oct 2004 11:24 - 1047 of 7811

Thx for the refresher on the numbers. this is one of the reasons why i think we are onto such a great name...these solid numbers are still factoring in WITHOUT a key deal. i feel this sp is conservative but the word is spreading. there is a real potential for a meteoric rise by the end of the 1Q 2005.

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 11:54 - 1048 of 7811

Okay, you have convinced me guys.

I have put my spending money into another little cache of these.

Of course I would have liked cheaper than 19.43p, but lets face it any good news this week will leave that price well behind!

All imho etc.

sandrew64 - 26 Oct 2004 12:08 - 1049 of 7811

What do we do when the shed is also full!?! Buy a new one I guess....go SEY!!!

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:14 - 1050 of 7811

I am doing chicken and bacon pasta bake today.

Use 1 chicken breast per person, Sainsbury have a nice deal on at the moment which is unusual for them, buy one get the second for 99p, 4 breasts to a pack.

With Chicken, in fact any raw meat, prepare the surfaces before you start, by cleaning them. Have a bowl of hot soapy water ready for any implement and hand washing, which must be done immediately after touching any meats, but especially poultry.

Using a sharp knife, cube the breasts and place directly into an oven dish preferably with a lid.

A German Chicken Brick is excellent for all these types of dishes.

Wash the surface down that you used, with hot soapy water and an anti bacterial cleaner.

Take as much bacon as you like, smoked is my favourite as it adds something to the mix.

Cut this into small pieces approximately 1cm square.

Put these on top of the chicken.

Wash your hands!!!

Sprinkle grated mature cheddar to your taste over this and then pour over one jar of Dolmio Pasta Bake, (why bother making your own when they do it?)

Open a bottle of decent Chianti!

Important!!!!!

Drink one glass while performing the next step!

Cook the pasta, any vaiety that you really like will do fine.

Add half a glass of Chianti to the strained pasta which you have by now placed back into the saucepan!

Drink one more glass of Chianti.

Mix in one more jar of Dolmio Pasta Bake sauce into the pasta, and then pour on this on top of the meat/ cheese mix.

Sprinkle one more helping of cheese on top of this according to your taste.

Put the lid on the dish and then there are two or more ways of cooking.

If it is in a Chicken Brick, you can put it into the oven 2 hours before serving at gas mark 2.

If it is not in a chicken brick, please place it into the oven at gas mark 4 90 minutes before serving, in the last 30 minutes in both cases, remove the lid to allow the cheese to brown, while finishing the glass of Chianti.

At the end of the cooking time you should have;

1. Opened another bottle of Chianti
2. Finished the first bottle of Chianti
3. Have a very fine warm feeling inside of you, and
4. A very nice dinner

All imho and dyor of course..............

This is a fun thread, bought in yesterday too, looks like a good receipe might try that also.

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:16 - 1052 of 7811

Welcome adie, I would say more, but I am in to the second glass of Chianti...........

amberjane - 26 Oct 2004 12:19 - 1053 of 7811

A lot of sauce there SWW, how many you cooking for as I havnt eaten yet?

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:20 - 1054 of 7811

Four, and you would be surprised how much dissappears into the food, that is a reason to add a little Chianti, plus, I like Chianti

;-))

amberjane - 26 Oct 2004 12:22 - 1055 of 7811

Are sainsburys doing buy one get one free on their sauce as well?

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:29 - 1056 of 7811

No Morrisons are though!!

Now thta is a sucess story to come I think!!

gavdfc - 26 Oct 2004 12:30 - 1057 of 7811

Welcome aboard Adie, this is indeed a good thread.

SWW, a couple of questions if I may.

What on earth is a "chicken brick"?? Seems my cooking knowledge is a little lacking here!

No doubt that dish will take you a while to cook. Me thinks it may be an excuse to consume more Chainti whilst cooking! ;-)

As far as DYOR, should that not be DYOC, Do Your Own Cooking.

My Sheppards pie falls away compared to Chicken a La Seawallwalker.

Time for lunch, ham sandwich with lettuce.

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:36 - 1058 of 7811

A Chicken Brick by it's German name is Schlemmertopf.

It really is the only way to cook.........................

any meat at all, but a chicken is terrific!

I have been able to buy them in the UK, John Lewis stocked them last I looked, aloso seen them on sale direct from Germany.

All the goodness is sealed in therfore all the flavours are captured.........

Costs abot 10, but you probably never use another cooking dish once you have started.

Also use it to bake potatos, it keeps the skins just right in respect of crispieness, ans the inside moist.

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:37 - 1059 of 7811

Even cooked a stew/casserole in ours.......

yummy

seawallwalker - 26 Oct 2004 12:39 - 1060 of 7811
