PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

'ere we go again... up a bit... down a bit !

ptholden - 15 Jun 2005 10:06 - 1302 of 1874

And down a bit more, can't remember the last time I saw a move in either direction of 6%. Very small volume though and most MMs on the bid. Treeshake? Although God alone knows why!!

No idea on this one guys. I agree ptholden with a treeshake. MM playing games to fill an order? LOL

dclinton - 15 Jun 2005 14:02 - 1304 of 1874

Sigh. Each time it drops I swear to myself I'll sell half my holding at 8p next time. Then next time it moves up I get all excited and hold and lo and behold it drops back again.

The best thing about this is that I've been holding so long now that if it ever does start to fly at least I'll be able to take advantage of the captial gains tax break for AIM companies!

PIPEX Communications plc

Launch of new Voice/Broadband bundled service

PIPEX Communications plc ('PIPEX'), the telecoms network operator and provider
of business and residential broadband solutions, announced today the launch of a
high quality, low cost voice service to its over 200,000 broadband customers.

The new service, PIPEX Talk, costs only 4.99 per month and includes 3,000
minutes of free UK landline calls at any time of the day, creating substantial
savings over similar services from BT. PIPEX Talk's free minutes cover calls to
local and national numbers starting with 01 and 02. The service also provides
low cost calls to mobile and international destinations. With PIPEX Talk,
customers can take advantage of a one-stop voice and broadband service, with the
benefit of one simple bill and a single point of contact. PIPEX Talk is
expected to be available in July and customers can pre-register for the service
online from Monday 20 June.

Mike Read, Chief Executive Officer of PIPEX, comments,

'This is another great example of PIPEX offering additional value for money to
its customers. After the success of launching a VoIP service, as well as a
voice/broadband bundle, via our Nildram brand in December 04, it is now time to
launch across our complete broadband customer base, where we expect a strong
pick-up from customers wishing to take advantage of the obvious benefits of
low-cost calls.'

Do we really believe that this will move the SP? We live in hope. This service looks very good to me. But what do I know.

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 08:47 - 1307 of 1874

No one seems interested in Pipex any more.

skyhigh - 16 Jun 2005 09:04 - 1308 of 1874

Stay in ... this is going to double in the next 3 months (imho). the sp should be much higher than it is today.
sp doing what it always does after good news- no surprise there! However, I still think this share will amaze us one day soon. It will suddenly start going up to where it should be. I'd rather stay in then get out now.

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 09:10 - 1309 of 1874

Skyhigh. We have all been saying, soon,3 months, anytime now, re-rating etc for a long time. All we see is manipulation of the share price.

skyhigh - 16 Jun 2005 09:32 - 1310 of 1874

Troys... agree completely with you... However, I'm staying in.

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 09:41 - 1311 of 1874

So am I staying in skyhigh. Just need to have a moan. Feel better now

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 09:41 - 1312 of 1874

So am I staying in skyhigh. Just need to have a moan. Feel better now

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 09:41 - 1313 of 1874

Trigger happy now

dclinton - 16 Jun 2005 11:31 - 1314 of 1874

skyhigh - i've been in this share for two years, first bought in at 4.5p. I've been waiting ever since to be amazed.

Not going to bail now. I do beleive this share is greatly underpriced and has huge potential, but I'm not holding my breath anymore.

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 15:25 - 1315 of 1874

Up today - Down tomorrow. LOL

ptholden - 16 Jun 2005 15:30 - 1316 of 1874

So close to cutting a small loss on this stubborn MULE, other shares are flying, MDW, DGT, SEO, APP, GMC and even useless GON and what are PXC doing, phaffing around at 8 bloody pence. Oooooooooh so tempted!!

pth

dclinton - 16 Jun 2005 15:31 - 1317 of 1874

I threw caution to the wind this morning and topped up at 8.18p. to my great surprise I'm already in profit!

dclinton - 16 Jun 2005 15:32 - 1318 of 1874

I wish they'd consolidate. Part of the problem is that there is just such a huge volume of shares around that a buy of, say, 10,000,000 shares is still a small percentage of the total.

ptholden - 16 Jun 2005 15:36 - 1319 of 1874

dclinton

I agree to a degree (if you see what I mean) but out of the 2 billion shares in issue, quite a large percentage are in the hands of institutions, although I have never been able to find a website that is sufficiently upto date to know exactly how many.

Troys - 16 Jun 2005 15:37 - 1320 of 1874

Take the profit dclinton. They will be down in the morning!!! LOL
