PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

6m shares, is that all !!!!!

paulmasterson1 - 11 Jul 2005 14:13 - 1362 of 1874

A small tick up, but I tried an online dummy buy and sell for 100,000 shares, and with the mid at 8.875p I was offered a bid of 8.85p and an ask of 8.97p, suggesting big buy orders are being, or have been filled, as the current volume reported does not warrant the bid pushing up so high.

Sells being soaked up without a price drop.

More to come I think.

Cheers,
PM

1.5m buy T trade yesterday, so as I said, T buys holding the price back.

I wonder if we will see more T trades later today, with another tick up to either fill the order, or show it has been filled.

Cheers,
PM

Another 850,000 T buy, that has been soaking up all the sells again, and holding the price down !

paul

I recently dumped my investment in PXC, having finally ran out of patience. However I do keep an eye on the stock, mainly due to the fact that it is a bloody good company, profitable etc etc. One thing is obvious though, you have no experience of the way that this stock has behaved in the past. Trawl through the thread, there have been countless instances of T Buys holding up the stock, sometimes resulting in a RNS and sometimes not. But the final result has always been the same, the SP doesn't appreciably move. Perhaps this time it is different, perhaps PXC are a target, perhaps the SP will get the re-rating it deserves, or just perhaps, it's the same old story. So do every one a favour and stop banging on about T Buys as if they are the holy grail for PXC, beacuse for those of us who have held or are still holding, it doesn't necessarily mean a great deal. Learn the share and do some research.

PS Happy to be proven wrong for Troys, Skids et al who have been in this mule for ever.

Donkey Facts

China has the largest donkey population in the world estimated at 11 million.
Large donkeys in America are called mammoth asses and measure up to 16.2 hands, or as big as a police horse.
Most of the wagon trains that opened up the American West were pulled by mules.
The great wealth of the Egyptians was due to the precious metals carried from Africa by donkeys.
The wool that was exported from South Australia in the 19th century was carried to the rail head by teams of donkeys, sometimes up to 24 in a single hitch.
In Britain today there are approximately 800 donkeys working on beaches - over 200 are licensed to work on Blackpool Beach alone.
25,000 is the highest price paid for a donkey in the UK. The donkey was a racing donkey called Minstrel.
