Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

G,
It is amazing that somebody who has "squelched" my postings without knowing the present contents is in a position to evaluate their content.
I hope in his previous occupation he didn't form opinions and make arrests based on his omniscience.

But it is nice to know that Cameron is now going to engage in negotiations with Europe. Qualified majority voting will override.
Seems like a naughty boy standing outside the classroom and knocking on the door pleading to get back in.
The response being, "you are not grown up enough yet".

It seems that the Eurozone think the UK now has any legal power to block changes of future regulations.

Problem with Europe is that it doesnt like democracy and was designed by politicians and bureaucrats. Now they (French in particular) will do everything in their power to invent a loophole to the UKs right to the the veto, just as it does to avoid any type of referendum on its activities. France is morally corrupt.
All the rules were in place at the creation of the euro but it was not in the political interest of the group to enforce them, until it blew up in their faces. This is not a banking problem, as the french dwarf likes to insinuate, but a governmental debt problem.
Meanwhile democracy has gone out of the window for Italy and Greece.
The euro is a deadman walking. There is no way that France and Germany can replace every government and the people will eventually win out. History is on their side.
Fact is that Merkozy needs the UK far more that they care to admit. Germany is more pragmatic, the dwarf is only thinking of himself. and that was the fundamental flaw in the euro experiment - politicians only think as far as the next election. Always have, always will.

I wonder who Cameron will blame for his latest balls up.
I wouldn't mind him being isolated, but don't want the UK to be in the same ward.
The UK or more specifically the tory septics and little englanders have being trying to derail the EU since its original conception.
Why?
Not to protect the UK, but to protect themselves and the city. Many of the latter possibly living outside the UK and paying little tax.
Sarkozy, would probably preferred to have the UK within the Eurozone in order to present an united "front" to the "markets", but the price of what Cameron was offering was to high for France, Germany or the other members.
Cameron overstepped himself for internal party politics and his own position.
The UK will pick up his tab.

More perceptive than many thought at the time.
