PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

I have been keeping a rough count and since oct 1st make it about 178m buys to 125m sells. Thats adding all the ? trades at mid price to the buys. So if it is a new investor a rns will have to be issued when they purchase around 3% 63m ish. 15m ish to go.

PIPEX Communications plc

PIPEX first to market with nation-wide NHS broadband solution
for community pharmacies

PIPEX has become the UK's first ISP to achieve accreditation to provide
broadband Internet access and services to community pharmacies as part of the
NHS' New National Network, known as N3. As the first service provider to market
with aggregated connections for N3, PIPEX will be able to provide individual
pharmacies and pharmacy groups with a range of Internet services, including
secure web access, email and Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).

N3 accreditation provides significant benefits to PIPEX resellers and systems
providers, giving them the opportunity to tap into PIPEX's proven expertise in
bulk ordering and installation.

The aim of N3 is to provide a fast, reliable network on which to run the new IT
systems being delivered by the National Programme for IT. This will make the NHS
the first major user of significant broadband capacity in the public sector. The
network will also provide the technology to benefit patients by significantly
speeding up the transfer of key clinical data between NHS organisations.

Mike Read, Chief Executive Officer of PIPEX, commented,

'Achieving compliance for such a major programme yet again highlights our
expertise, showing strength in depth in the provision, delivery and reselling of
Internet services. It's good news for pharmacies, who are now able to tap into
available Government funding to improve their IT systems and it's good news for
our partners, who have the opportunity to augment their service offerings in
what is a highly competitive market.'

As part of the accreditation process, PIPEX has worked closely with Connecting
for Health and, in particular, its Information Governance team to meet the
stringent requirements to ensure that all patient data is kept secure and
services are available around the clock.

Through 10p - never thought I'd see it!

skyhigh - 11 Nov 2005 09:17 - 1677 of 1874

Nor did I ! Let's hope, as long term holders and believers, that it lasts and even continues to climb..it must do now.?.....(imho)

deadfred - 11 Nov 2005 09:54 - 1678 of 1874

bsb has to be hovering now look at what it gets if it buys pipex
a bigger customer base than easynet a host name capability as well as more unbundeled exchanges

with the nhs accreditation it has the capability of moving into the paperless prescription service

ie

if you phone for a prescription to the docs all she/he has to do is pres y or n on the screen to send your prescription to the chemists for u to pic up
less theft more speed

now think how the older ppl will look on this and you might see why pipex if they can move fast might make a bundel of cash

me im buying chemist shares cause if i was pipex thats what id be doing right now
roflmao

anyone for broadband
