goldfinger - 19 Oct 2011 09:12 - 1681 of 3532

SMWH chart looks rather bullish with new highs appearing on good volume. Who says the high street is dead for all. On the red hot watch list awaiting further confirmation.

goldfinger - 19 Oct 2011 10:10 - 1682 of 3532

Nice to see footsie breaking out again.

machoman - 20 Oct 2011 21:39 - 1683 of 3532

re - breaking out

do not fool yourself down 65 points at close after being 85 at one time

very english ........'One swallow does not make a summer'

sentiment is negative, but could bounce a bit tomorrow

goldfinger - 21 Oct 2011 01:58 - 1684 of 3532

And now 5412 so thats a large bounce back and out through the trading range ceiling and heading upwards.

Im trusting the Germans and the French to sort the Eurozone prob out by the wed coming, so any technical buff eg, bolinger band ceilings will be blown out of the water.

Breakouts do just what they say.

goldfinger - 21 Oct 2011 02:09 - 1685 of 3532

I take your point though machoman and the SP will break one way or the other through the Horizontal trading range.

Im sure the majority of people are hoping its upwards. If its not then the World economy is in dire trouble.

goldfinger - 24 Oct 2011 01:19 - 1686 of 3532

Futures positive...just at moment. Come on japan.

goldfinger - 24 Oct 2011 08:40 - 1687 of 3532

Ive loaded up on the banks LLOY, BARC and RBS. All have a basing pattern on their charts and hopefully a good run up to the new year now if the Euro Zone behaves come wednesday.

Big ask I know , but it could be a good trade.

HARRYCAT - 24 Oct 2011 08:45 - 1688 of 3532

Surely if Merkel says that no immediate solution is forthcoming, then all three will get hit? Not sure that the chart is particularly relevant in this situation.

goldfinger - 24 Oct 2011 09:25 - 1689 of 3532

More than Merkel to decide the fate, Harry. I said it was a big ask, so ya takes yer chances.

goldfinger - 25 Oct 2011 09:27 - 1690 of 3532

Lovely base forming on TCG, this could be a stonker of a recovery chart....

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=TCG&Si

HARRYCAT - 25 Oct 2011 16:43 - 1691 of 3532

Just as a matter of interest, gf, no criticism implied or intended, when you trade TCG from the chart, do you ignore the fundamentals and just concentrate on the TA.?
Possible rights issue, slow winter season, suspension of the divi and more short term debt would usually put me off this kind of stock, but as you point out, the graph says otherwise.

goldfinger - 25 Oct 2011 17:50 - 1692 of 3532

Both Harry. Main concern for me was banking facilities which they have sorted in the last week which adds to the companys actions of beefing up the balance sheet.

Bare in mind though that im a freguent trader and hold anything from a few days to a couple of months these days.

Used to be a fairly longish holder up about 2 years back. year to a couple of years.

Now that im semi -retired I have a lot more time on my hands and can buy in and out with the flexibility that my life style now gives me.

Tend to sell stocks on day before results and then get back in again a few days later. going in my favour at a ratio of about 3 to 1 at moment.

I suppose when markets stabalise that ratio will change to the bull side, but nothings certain in this business as you will know.

Interesting to see broker forecasts which justify the basing of the chart and hopefully a nice rise. i just love that chart pattern.

Notice the holds.......... (source hemscott premium)

Interesting NAV which I havent fully checked (not that interested in this sector), but I like the P/E multiples and Im hoping the market recovers and subsequently the SP.

HARRYCAT - 25 Oct 2011 20:04 - 1693 of 3532

O.K. Thanks. Not really a sector I follow either, but might just ignore my own rational reasoning and go with the flow on this one.

goldfinger - 26 Oct 2011 10:22 - 1694 of 3532

Forgot to mention harry, takes a while to get into its stride each morning.

goldfinger - 26 Oct 2011 15:06 - 1695 of 3532

Hmmmm............ Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=UKX&Si

FTSE close to 61.8% Fib; a close above 5564 ups the odds on a return to 6080(ish

Or am I talking wet.

skinny - 26 Oct 2011 15:21 - 1696 of 3532

GF - makes sense - until later today and this pair! Very consistent volume on the chart btw :-)

goldfinger - 26 Oct 2011 16:17 - 1697 of 3532

Looks like anything could happen skinny. Toss of the the coin.......20 times.

Never know such Fred Karno politicians as the ones we got worldwide and here aswel. Look at Vince Cable today...pathetic.

They said Brown was bad, not so sure now.

goldfinger - 27 Oct 2011 08:34 - 1698 of 3532

Banks paying off nicely. TCG turned blue, nice.

goldfinger - 27 Oct 2011 17:03 - 1699 of 3532

Fred1new - 27 Oct 2011 21:53 - 1700 of 3532

"Reverting back to the kipper1 system tonight. "

I am not sure why I thought of this:

"Do not go gentle into that good night"

====================

It was rewarding day

But, it is still a dangerous market!

Good luck to-morrow.
