Amerisur Reources : Sth. American Oil/Gas explorer (AMER)

Sharesure - 30 Jun 2007 18:48

Amerisur Resources is exploring for oil and gas in South America, currently in Colombia and later it plans to exploit its licences in Paraguay. It has a new Board of Directors and following a recent Placing at 6p (250m shares) sufficient cash to see through its current drilling plans and carry out some further corporate asset improvement opportunities.

Valuation of Amerisur Resources : 'Rule of Thumb' based on c.800m shares and using 10% DCF on oil at $70/barrel is 0.75p on the sp for every 1m barrels (CHP's share) that is proved in the ground.

Amerisur (formerly Chaco Resources) now has two exploration blocks in Colombia which it is currently evaluating and preparing to drill, one of these in the last quarter of 2007. It has also applied for further blocks in Colombia which are also believed to offer near term production. It also has three substantial areas in Paraguay and is awaiting news on a fourth. The next six months (May-November 2008) should see a steady news flow as it establishes the companys transformation from being an exploration company to becoming a significant oil production company. Set out below are some of the milestones which should produce announcements and have a positive effect on the share price. Any potential reserves are quoted in recoverable oil assets.

Platinillo, Colombia :

100% interest in a field currently assessed at holding 38.1m barrels of light sweet crude oil. Previously this a well flowed at 533 b/d before it was capped.Modern extraction methods may achieve up to double this output/well. Drilling completed for assessment and details of reserve figures and resumption of production daily figures awaited at Dec.2009. (Some guessestimates suggest the field might contain as much as 70m-100m barrels.)

b>

Tigra/Fenix block

100%% Further 3D seismic is completed; previous drilling has resulted in 30,000 barrels of oil from this block. Other blocks nearby in the Magdalena basin have also produced well. Drilled 11/2009; optimistic RNS (17 leads to follow)but reserve figures awaited

RNS :Expect further news on this block imminently and maybe a JV or other arrangement to speed up the timescale to production

Additional blocks to be announced

New local management team, in particular the CEO, is reputed to have some excellent contacts which will bring some high quality blocks to Amerisur in the coming months.

Curupayty Block, Paraguay :

1.39m hectares in north, close to Bolivia. Two wells previously drilled and both showed oil.

RNS : Expect JV with larger producer.

San Pedro Block, Paraguay :

1m hectares in south-east. Previous drilling showed oil.

RNS : Expect JV with larger producer.

Parana Basin, Paraguay :

Canindeyu block covering 1,789,000 hectares. Bordering Brazil. Oil field on Brazilian side already drilled. Chaco also expect to find oil and, at a deeper level, considerable quantities of gas. Chaco has obtained valuable historic seismic for re-evaluation.

RNS : Presidential Decree received 2/11/06.. Petrobras has announced its intention to increase substantially its effort to exploit Paraguay's hydrocarbons and has announced a farm-in on CDS's adjacent block. Possibility that they or another major will do likewise with Amerisur

Corporate Activity : The new Chairman is believed to have been brought on board to prove some or all of the existing Colombian assets and get these oil producing, arrange a JV on the Paraguayan assets before negotiating a sale of the company as consolidation of explorers in the region continues. An exit sp north of 1.00 over the next 12 months might be a reasonable target provided the drilling programme lives up to expectations, the price of oil remains at/above current levels and an approach is made for the company.

...After 3 yrs without posting on ANY lsp Roly i notice with a hint of sadness how abusive posters have become on what is after all a FREE BB .. Not only that; people merely slavishly copy others views from a vast plethora of dubious and beginners publications which lets face it , we ALL have access too. !! . l mean " Shares" and lC are like comics from which any moron could find hard copy.lf people followed their reccomendations they would be broke very rapidly..!! Many others juste post RNS without adding any critical analysis ' !!! Now that is futile: and utterly gauls me . But what makes me cringe is juste how many merely profer opinions of " names "they think are in the loop yet are seen by real players in the city as cretins. For the most part Financial journalism has never been worth very much .......What i am trying to say is that after assimulating all views reg. a particular stock very few posters offer anything approaching anything scholarly let alone , an errudite, rational, well reasoned, argued and written PERSONAL point of view. They prefer to insult you for simply having an opinion of your own ...Obviously there are exceptons. !! How thinketh you ? .............................@+.J............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................ ..... ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................REG: AMER - what with demand for crude expected to tail off in the immediate short term Amer shed approx. 5% today. But all oiles fell what with a heady mix of American reserves being high ,China attempting through fiscal policy to put a brake on economic growth, and woeful Greek/Spanish debt dampening euro growth .The only variable that will be more than shortlived is the debt problem . The other two are very temporary -after all rotary count is tight at 96.2% and when u include workovers and contractual extensions being exercised the RT is almost 98% resulting in an absurd 3 year wait for availability of modern rigs . Many oiles, esp. the minnions and esp those based in eastern europe/ Africa and Latin America are using decrepit Russian,Polish,Yugo, and Rumanian rigs unfit for the purpose of both deep and coastal drilling . l see in header dated in 2007 Sharesure guesstimated 100p for year ending 2007 .WOW ! , .Dont give up your daytime job !!.......That would put an m/c of 850million stg on Amer. ..sssshhhh....now thats a lot of oil - Irony being had i said it l would have been accused of ramping it to the skies - but at least he made a case for his estimate wrong as it may have proven .......@+ J

aldwickk - 13 Feb 2010 22:41 - 1804 of 3289

Yes I agree , they insult Simon Cawkwell [ E K ] because he shorts stocks and makes a profit, but they would do the same if they could. I think his views on the markets are very underated.

I know you trade soft commodities , take a look at coconut oil , i read an artical in the the Manila bulletin that said it could be one of the Philippines fastest growing export's. also read The Healing Miracles of Coconut oil by Bruce Fife.

Yes am still holding AFR and CEY as my core holdings and am very overweight with AFR.

aldwickk - 13 Feb 2010 22:49 - 1805 of 3289

Will your book be called " Peak Oil , a reappraisal." ?

I will better stop posting off topic , or i will be in trouble with other posters.

TheFrenchConnection - 13 Feb 2010 23:14 - 1806 of 3289

You wont go wrong with either AFR or CEY Roly . l am hoping for 500p+ on AFR . Likewise i hold very overweight. WOW !! CEY ! ...l bought a shedfull of those for buttons lol sold at around 110p .Was premature, but wanted out of the market altogether at time .l expect a LOT MORE yet . Rememeber that bloody Egyptian minister of mines who refused CEY permission to drill despite Supreme court order overuling him . He wanted the S. project for himself and his cronies you know. All that skulldugery after CEY had spent a veritable kings ransom on pre drilling work.( mainly oiling the palms of those greedy arabs ) So company kept rigs onsite for over 6 months awaiting elections and fortunately new Prez replaced that greedy minister with a pro free trader whose remit was to encourage foreign investment . .That was the turning point . .Now on the main board .lts the next POG on the block ; and cheap even at 120p what with spot gold price dont you think ? And lets not forget it is believed to have the biggest gold deposit on Earth !! Look im going to get this e-mail account set up. @+ J.....Ref your ref. to palm oil . Yes i believe so: but perceive it to be a two edged sword .

jkd - 14 Feb 2010 00:11 - 1807 of 3289

TheFrenchConnection - 14 Feb 2010 01:56 - 1808 of 3289

Mes amities JKD . Sincerest apologies. ls totally my fault . Damned e-mail facility refuses to send mails since i came back to UK . l appreciate itmust be bloody annoying to go to a particular thread in which u are interested only to stumble upon what appears to be a private conversation discussing nothing in particular with very little to do with relavent subject - Sorry .......as for editing - is a very moot point and taken on board . .

cynic - 14 Feb 2010 07:50 - 1809 of 3289

TFC - i'm glad to say that few posters here are abusive and those that consistently overstep the mark are soon booted off ..... nevertheless, jkd has a very valid point, not only about excessive private corres on a specific thread/site, but also on brevity

aldwickk - 14 Feb 2010 12:13 - 1810 of 3289

TFC ..... it will be ok to post on the NOWT thread to post off topic .

TheFrenchConnection - 14 Feb 2010 20:55 - 1811 of 3289

Mr C./...Last word on subject. Your Point/s were already duly noted..l did in fact apologise to JKD et al and agreed he was making a moot point: and made a genuine effort to reason why it had occured on this occasion ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,, RE-Brevity. Perhaps i am a little slow on the uptake but it is only now l am even beginning to start to understand the real nature of the board..Namely to be informative and lively. Would very light hearted banter be right ? Unfortunateky i was taught that when making a fiscal critical analysis ,or come to that, any contraversial statement reg stocks ,one must be able to sustantiate every single word.; and thats what i have always try to do. ..Mainly due to having witnessed juste how little people enjoy losing their money ...BUT if thats not on the menu- when in Rome ..ect ect @+ J

halifax - 15 Feb 2010 14:33 - 1812 of 3289

TFC sorry you suffer from verbal d......

TheFrenchConnection - 15 Feb 2010 18:53 - 1813 of 3289

Hi Mr. H No need to be sorry mon b/pote. .When english is not your first tongue ( neither is French ) it is very difficult to know if u are getting your point across effectively . Really hard. ...BUT brevity is my new middle name and iam trying to re-adjust ok? ....."+ J ......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,>>...awwwwww OH NO !!!! one last bout of d,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.......................................................................................` ..Reg. AMER . Sitting at current level at 13.25p, it is half way down from its cliff edge s/p of 17p .You only need look at its ACCOUNTS ! and its trading chart to see that. Recent derisory volume, 100 +200 day eda and mda at 11.08 and 8.78 respectively and with no news on immediate horizon act as a magnet for shorters-Other variables such as re-inventing itself - from a gold prospector to the most highly focussed/ specialized sector as is oil followed by a change of name ( again ! ) hurts mkt sentiment more than u can imagine . lt s main love is consistancy. ALWAYS !! -Amer down 7.5% since last thursday is of little consequence, l know -lt is more the sheer number of stop loss positions at 12p that aggrevate matters. Despite support at 13,08 it is more soft than butter .lf 12p is breached it will sink like a stone to sub 10p.....Already my option to sell at 16p level has paid of handsomely at 2k a point irrespective of premium paid..) approx 6k )...lm never greedy and ALWAYS PLAY the % s but I have a feeling the end game is not yet reached'........but profit is NOT profit until crystalized .................................c'est la vie ................................................................................................................................ ln my opinion AMER is worth perhaps a tad shy of CDS who has anj. field and at LEAST a j/v with big players petrobas.........so 2p and ill buy

blackdown - 16 Feb 2010 07:48 - 1814 of 3289

TFC - you might be better to invest in wind farms.

Balerboy - 16 Feb 2010 08:35 - 1815 of 3289

he could start generating straight away.....

annie38 - 16 Feb 2010 08:49 - 1816 of 3289

TFC " Amer down 7.5% since last Thursday "
Fact: During last weeks trading AMER rose from 12.5p to close on Friday at 13.5p. (an increase of 8%)

TheFrenchConnection - 16 Feb 2010 10:16 - 1817 of 3289

ll have no absolutely hesitation in sating you are all good sports with a fab sense of humour .l really laughed at myself being a quoted company ptoviding wind power-...l bet/ hope you would all buy stock :-)) ....AMER _ 2p and ill have a punt

2517GEORGE - 16 Feb 2010 10:26 - 1818 of 3289

2517

nas daq - 16 Feb 2010 10:49 - 1819 of 3289

2517

I'm sure we would have all liked to buy a shedload at 2p but unfortunately the market now says we have to pay 13.5p come this time next month, after what the company have alluded to in recent rns', WE WILL BE LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO BUY THEM FOR 20P.

tudwick - 16 Feb 2010 10:54 - 1820 of 3289

TFC, your predictions make Cynic's comments about this company sound quite generous, which I never thought I'd say. No offence meant Cynic, but you are constantly down on this particular share. I agree entirely with 2517George that I hope we never see you as a shareholder...lol
