I read that Warren Buffet says it is better to predict rain than build an Ark,
so we should be thinking of the looming problem of water shortage.
So - is this Company worth considering?

This company has a great future, increasing population, increasing demand, increasing shortages of good quality water, emerging markets globally, expect big things from this company. Don't hold at mo, missed opportunity to get in as was on holiday, waiting for a retracement if none next week or two will be in.

Absolutely steveo, worldwide people are demanding access to clean water and AFS can oblige, they are in China where a large %age of the population have no access to drinking quality water atm., slowly that will change.

Bit more activity in these last few days and feeling comfortable about earlier purchase at 117p. Don't really like Israeli domicile, but been around since 1962 and in growing markets around the world. First half results produced earnings of over 14UScents and comment suggests second half should be better. Net cash in the balance sheet. Bit simplistic, but IMO not unreasonable to expect eps of 15p equivalent for 2007, so even allowing for political risks a P/E of 10 would make them worth 150p in my book.Always DYOR.

Another penny or 2 so far today, I notice the Saudi's are going to build a large water treatment plant etc, I have no idea but maybe AFS will be involved.

See also that Icelandic investment house Atorka has a 20% stake - their philosophy is to go for strong management teams and businesses in growth markets with good cash generation. Don't we all......

Nice 7.5% rise so far, with a mkt cap of 22m it doesn't take much to move the sp, looking good.

Excellent rise of 12.5% today. At the interims in august (1/2 year to june) management were bullish for the full year :-
Commenting on the results, Rami Treger, Chief Executive Officer of Amiad, said:
"The market for Amiad's products continues to expand with greater global
investments in water infrastructure. Specifically, there is increasing
investment in the municipality area (waste water, desalination, potable water)
due to stricter restrictions and regulations being introduced worldwide.
These positive long-term trends underpin Amiad's prospects. The Company has
entered the second half of 2007 with an order volume and backlog which is
substantially higher at this stage than at the corresponding time last year,
which gives the Company confidence of achieving good growth across the business
in the second half of this year as compared to the equivalent period last year.
As a result, the Company expects to report a significant increase in revenues
for the full year as compared with last year."

By george, was that your prompting causing the rise!!!!! Good day, would prefer a steadier ride up that we seem to get with this one. But up is good

Not so much prompting steveo, more commenting on the sp as it improved, a bit like now really--- up another 6p atm, must be a buyer in the wings. Let's not forget that AFS was over 280p 18months ago, as for steady rises I say the bigger the better.

partridge--------A good day yesterday and another today, albeit on low volume today. End of year is 31/12/07 so looking good. I believe this is a sound growth stock.

2517..Guess with a fairly illiquid stock it is not easy to deal in large volumes and ratio of buyers/sellers still leaves me with a comfortable feeling.Figures to end of Dec will hopefully show that on fundamentals it remains good value.

AFS has broken through 2 year resistance levels of around 180p and hopefully will continue upwards, there certainly appears to be some momentum behind them.
