Telecity 2007 (TCY)

hangon - 08 Aug 2008 17:11

The company seems to have a missing portion of news - earlier thread was 2004 on then a gap in RNS with a takeover of Redbus (?), and then an IPO ann. at 2.20 October-ish 2007
Now the sp is somewhat higher, with the internet and video becomming mainstream. (2.55 ish today )
High PE ratio
and low NAV
Yield is zero.

Anyone got something good to say?

spitfire43 - 02 Feb 2009 10:45 - 2 of 64

Finals reported today which came in better than expected, this is the first year of profit and seem to be relatively unaffected by downturn. The statement was bullish also " They start 2009 with confidence in continued growth. " Hopefully we will see some broker upgrades soon.

Profit = 15.5m*
EPS = 7.8p*
Debt = 29m ith market cap of 336m

*Profit & EPS figure is not including significant currency gains, or tax credits. If these were included Profit would show 25.3m.

Deutsche Bank this morning increased the target price from 260p to 280p

Remember that 3i hold 22% (76m) and are looking to bring debt level down. However Telecity today say they know of no plans by 3i to sell this stake.

Chart = Resistance at 194p and Support at 156p

spitfire43 - 02 Feb 2009 19:08 - 3 of 64

Finnished today with a flurry of buyers at 191p up 10% today, however I wasn't one of them and took advantage for a modest profit. But will follow TCY for other trading opportunites.

From the Blue Index blog

Hot in the City
May 5th, 2009

We really do seem to be back in bull market mode, and with a sea of blue across trading screens, picking a stock for sustainable growth presents a similar challenge to picking out winners in a falling market

But here is a strong technology play for your perusal. Data centre operator Telecity Group (TCY) has invested in and built data centres throughout Europe, with all development funded from its cash flows and existing borrowing facilities. The group today reported a 36% hike in annual revenues to GBP133m, and said trading in the first three months of 2009 was strong, with revenue growth in line with last year. Telecity confirmed its financial position remains robust, and its previously announced expansion plans are progressing well. Several analysts were very positive, saying the results and numbers are very good and better than expected, adding the company was clearly outperforming the market. Deutsche Bank also added its weight behind the stock, lifting its target price to 300p from 280p and maintaining its buy rating.

Positive Candidate -Medium term, Jan 26, 2011 TELECITY GROUP is within a rising trend. Continued positive development within the trend channel is indicated. Has also broken a double bottom formation. A decisive break of the resistance at 460 will signal a rise to 488 or more. The stock has support at pence 440 and resistance at pence 507. The stock is overall assessed as technically positive for the medium long term.

The gap higher today suggests that while there is no end of day close back below it at 480p the upside for TCY should be the December highs through 510p as a mininum.

Merrill have this - Source FT re TCY

To be clear, the release today focuses more on Terremarks managed hosting
and infrastructure-as-a services businesses as the rationale for the acquisition, as
opposed to the co-location offering. Put simply we dont see this as a direct read
for Telecity as the acquirer seems more interested in the parts of the business
which Telecity does not offer. While Telecity just rents the customers space and
access to power and cooling, managed hosting takes things to a much more
complex level, with the data-centre company also owning and managing the
servers which the clients are using. Nonetheless, Telecity has been talked about
before as an M&A target (notably last July). Therefore we think further sector
consolidation will be a positive for sentiment.
For reference Equinix acquisition of Switch and Data last year valued the target
(a business more comparable to Telecity) at 11.7x forward EV/EBTIDA. The bid
for Terremark (a business less comparable to Telecity) values the target on 15x
forward EV/EBITDA. Applying these multiples to Telecity would imply a valuation
of 606 787p /share versus Telecitys closing price yesterday of 475p (9.3x
2011E EV/EBITDA).

TCY Telecity.

1 year daily chart.

SP trying to breakout to a new high. Lovely rounded bottom chart. Looks like we have a winner here if the breakout can be sustained.

Forward Statement from last Interim Management Statement 9/05/2011

Current trading and outlook

Demand for premium highly-connected data centre capacity is strong in Europe and TelecityGroup confirms its positive outlook for another year of substantial growth in 2011.

Due to a combination of the recurring revenue growth achieved to date, an encouraging orderbook pipeline and strong operating margins, management is confident that the Group will deliver a full year performance that is in line with market expectations.
