Amities. MXP is a junior oil play with great potential.ln the interests of brevity i will keep this short and let you all do your own research .lt is certainly worthy of your attention and investigations . The company has a portfolio of prospects in the oil rich Caspian basin of Kazakhstan- some of which could yield truly vast amounts of hydrocarbons. lt s business model is simple in so far that it plans to retain 100% interest in its pretty extensive portfolio of shallow post salt ,low cost, low risk exploration prospects while farming out its deeper and high cost pre salt portfolio .Recently CEO Michael Young tripled his holding at a tad shy of 20p; with head bean counter and fellow directors rapidly following suite.ln addition all the board have a proven track record in not only exploration, development and production in this location; but also seem to have expierienced very little difficulty in raising sufficient capital to fund their projects and quite naturally equally little trouble in marketing their product .So unlike other oilies with similar market caps who remain pure, and in some cases dubious expo plays , MXP is a producer/expo .lt recently successfully brought two prospects at Zhana makat into play producing a respectable 2100 bpd which when crude hits its true worth will add a considerable sum to its coffers .And lets face it -crude is only going one way now all the big shorters of 2005-2009 are dissappearing .Among its large portfolio is the Astrakhanskiy block which appears on interpretation of modern 3d seismic to be an extension of the super giant lmashevskoye field which produces a phenomenal 120 TCFE of gas condensate.ln addition among its prospects lies the Bashkirian reavoir which is believed to hold 410 mmboe. The ready to drill, very shallow, low cost projects include the Asanketken prospect with mean reserves estimated at50mmboe ,the North Kyzylzhar prospect containing western block with estimated reserves of 25mmboe and eastern block with estimated reserves of 19 mmboe, the Borkyldatky prospect with reserves estimated at 17mmboe and several others with similar mean reserves . . The rest is up to you ,,,Bonne chance a tous ...

Well replied - What about the honourable House of Lords - are they honest people like most of us, but just like to dress to impress and try to fool us that they know better ???? Lets audit them next, then something will hit the fan.

Max Petroleum Drilling Produces Net Oil Play

Max Petroleum's UTS1 exploration well on the Uytas prospect in Block A has reached an intermediate depth of 300 metres with electric logs indicating 16 metres of net oil pay at depths from 60 to 76 metres in the Cretaceous Formation, with a potential 86 metre thick oil column present at depths from 60 to 146 metres, the company reported in a news release. Max Petroleum Plc has run casing over this portion of the well and will continue to drill ahead to a total depth of approximately 900 metres to evaluate its principal exploration target sands in the Jurassic and Triassic sections. The company will test the shallow Cretaceous zone after evaluating the deeper horizons.
Max Petroleum Executive Co-Chairman Robert Holland said, The initial results of Uytas are very encouraging and could prove to be significant given the apparent size of the oil column. While we need to finish drilling the well to evaluate it fully, we are excited to have a potential commercial discovery before reaching our principal objectives.
