Cyan Holdings Plc
European Meter Update
RNS Number : 2232L
Cyan Holdings Plc
04 May 2010

Cyan Holdings Plc

("Cyan" or "the Group")

European Meter Update

Cyan Holdings plc (AIM:CYAN.L), the fabless semiconductor company providing wireless utility metering and lighting control products based on its feature rich, low power, microcontroller chips, is pleased to announce that it has recently received orders from large customers that serve the European automated metering market.

This is an indication of acceleration in the deployment of meters in Europe. Automated metering is an important global market to which Cyan aims to become a major supplier as customers currently running field trials transition for production orders.

Cyan has a number of customers utilising its technology, which has been incorporated into their own products many of which have already been approved by regulatory authorities for use in a number of European countries.

To date, the technical performance of Cyan's products' has continued to drive demand from customers wanting to run field trials, which have proved highly successful, with the Group consistently meeting the demands of its potential key customers.

This has translated into the number of orders received in Q2 2010 surpassing both the customer forecasts, and the total number of units ordered by such customers before.

Kenn Lamb, CEO of Cyan Holdings plc commented:

"This evidence of traction achieved in Europe is extremely encouraging for the Group. While Cyan still expects unit shipments to customers in Asia to significantly exceed shipments to those in Europe during 2010, it is excellent to see European customers own unit forecasts being accelerated and exceeded."

blueface - 20 Jul 2010 15:07 - 3 of 18

for the first time i have actually bght 150,000 shares in this small company at a pice of .94p per share--i am told that there are some exciting contracts going to be announced in the near future and will transform the company --mmm!!--all sounded too good to miss an opportunity to buy some shares now even though they have recently moved up from around 0.70p per share--still plenty of mileage to go i am told--LOL--STILL A BUY!!

Blueface : you might be on to something here....directors buying, 2 million in the bank, market cap of just 6 million, and an initial order form India, with more in the pipeline ?....sp been incredibly knocked down, but with an optimistic update it looks as if it might have turned the corner, ...one to follow perhaps...I remember the sp being arount 20p at some past stage...if I'm not mistaken....

Meters arount the globe are going to be with this sort of chip, so a big future and recovery for this ?....could be...

transco15 - 28 Jul 2010 02:53 - 6 of 18

Defo a speculative buy with huge potential upside!!
I am told more good news in the pipeline!!

required field - 28 Jul 2010 08:23 - 7 of 18

Took the jump in yesterday...a bit of a gamble but this might just fly !.

This the one Master RSI...good go far...

This is a high tech Cambridge one, and a certain James Cameron is out in India, ...might bring in a few orders for CYAN...

hangon - 28 Jul 2010 22:02 - 10 of 18

It may well "fly", but they don't do anything that others can't do - the likes of ARM, Wolfson or CSR (whose sp is way too high IMHO ).
Yet CYAN is fairly lowly priced, so there is a potential for an upliftr on some news, but I doubt it will be India (connect to News item), because two directors have bought v. recently and that would put them in a "closed-period".

However, looking at their purchases, one is 5k (that's one tenth of the level I consider to be positive and about the level I consider to be "negative".).
The other director bought abt 22k-worth, which also falls short of my "positive" although it is above my "Negative" - so I guess that is neutral.

I don't think their target-market of meter-reading is exclusive and wouldn't be surprised if at least one other Euro chipmaker was working on it, if it's worthwhile.

Required field, - whaddyo know?

transco15 - 29 Jul 2010 07:02 - 11 of 18

I reckon that there will be a surge upon orders being confirmed......in the short term...a couple of months...good for getting past the 2p mark....perhaps longer term.....10p......perhaps not quite as high....

required field - 29 Jul 2010 09:18 - 14 of 18

Miight even have a Provexis style increase in the sp....an orders update just has to be coming soon...

Balerboy - 29 Jul 2010 14:42 - 15 of 18

If big contracts emerge : it could fly up by even a couple of pennies from present value.....a big if of course, but there is huge upside for this micro penny share....
