ADN results(bullish or bearish) (ADN)

thaipen - 03 Dec 2003 12:25

Does anyone have a view on ADN. I have a nice profit over six months. Their latest statement seemed encouraging. Should I hold?

ajren - 03 Dec 2003 15:40 - 2 of 15

Hi thaipen.I agree their statement seems encouraging so cannot understand
price dropping.rgds aj

thaipen - 03 Dec 2003 17:46 - 3 of 15

Hello ajren. Nice to hear from you. I suppose there is still a cloud hanging over ADN's head while they await the report on the split-level fiasco. Think I'll hang on to them for a while. Best wishes, thaipen

ajren - 03 Dec 2003 17:54 - 4 of 15

Nothing is Obviously good/bad so I would hold too.rgds aj

thaipen - 05 Dec 2003 14:10 - 5 of 15

Hi ajren

The price is heading south. Think I'll sell out and book my profit while I can.
Cheers, thaipen.

I'm thinking about taking a punt on ADN. The FSA seems to be taking a hell of a long time over split caps - has anyone got a clue when it's likely to report? ADN still has some terrific fund managers, particularly covering the Far East, and if it can shake off the bad press over splits it might start rebuilding. I worry that if the FSA gives it a real savaging Martin Gilbert might take it personally and retire to the Bahamas or something - that would be bad news. Always a chance one of the other fund management groups might get interested in buying ADN. Not much of a market out there at the moment though - New Star is acquisitive but it's only interested in taking over the funds, not the company, and anyway it's already had a nibble at ADN. I guess what I feel is the FSA thing might not turn out to be as bad as feared in the end and it's worth picking the shares up while they're down.

It's rough sailing with this one.
Did "wuneyedjack" take his punt back in Dec 03?
If the 102p support holds, we may be looking to 140 next month - I'm no expert but there are signs of horizon on the fine weather.

Windsor Life Assurance sells entire holding of 15.0m shares!
When Phoenix sold 38.1m last week:

One AAM source said: "This is being viewed as positive both in and outside the market"......"It's got to be good to expand the shareholder base..." - The Scotsman,(12/01/05).

Another storm in the teacup???

oddie - 31 Aug 2005 23:01 - 13 of 15

can anyone explain the price fluctuation in the last 2-3 weeks? from 1.70 down to 1.54 in just a few days??

Is 2-2.30 really achievable in the short term, i.e 2-3 months?

Read Rights Issue terms: you get 3 new shares @ 63p for every 2 ord. share held as at the 30th of Aug.05. Is that correct?

ianwas - 24 Feb 2006 17:12 - 14 of 15

Graph looking good I think this one has a long way to go.

Saintserf - 26 Feb 2006 18:52 - 15 of 15

Hey Ian you're talking to yourself on this thread I'm afraid. But the graph does look good.
