Results for Falkland Islands-moneyam (FKL)

Jonas - 11 Dec 2002 15:57

Operating profits rose by 14% despite a poor finish to the squid fishing season. Darwin Shipping operated three successful trips to the Islands, while there was a good performance from the Upland Goose Hotel. Work is in place to expand the retail operation in Stanley and a range of Waitrose products will be introduced. Elsewhere, oil and mineral exploration programmes are proceeding apace, with results due by July 2003. (JC)

Nice rise today on the back of the RNS from FOGL.
Got into this share a few weeks ago. As there have been no posts since 2002 I cant see the point in attempting to update the whole situation (I type about 5 words a minute).
As we all know FKL are linked to Falklands Oil and Gas (FOGL) by percentage share, and FOGL have just signed a Farm-In aggreement with BHP BIllton. No doubt other similar deals are in the pipeline.
For those interested, best read the last few months of the FOGL thread.

Nearly five years between the first and second posts on a thread! Is this a record?

:))

Gausie - 02 Oct 2007 20:00 - 4 of 11

Can we move this to the investors room??

Kayak - 02 Oct 2007 20:09 - 5 of 11

Why? I'm always interested to hear how the squid fishing went this year, and how the Upland Goose Hotel did.

Seymour Clearly - 02 Oct 2007 20:42 - 6 of 11

If this was over the road there'd be a zillion threads on the same subject. Nice to see some discipline.

Gausie,

Now on Investors thread. I would not have duplicated on there but as someone has pointed out nearly 5 years between first and second post appears to show no-one was following it on that thread. With the latest news it looks as if more interest may be generated there which will benifit all.

Seymour Clearly,

Like you, I hope the discipline continues.

Cheeres to both,
Greek.

greekman - 03 Oct 2007 08:23 - 8 of 11

Please post on the Falkland Islands Holdings thread FKL to save duplication.

Thanks.

Oily penguins spring to mind, also flares seen from Birmingham and no we were not talking about Gausie's dress sense :-)

Now see what you did, Mikey - you posted on the wrong thread :P

Bull seals?

DocProc - 03 Oct 2007 11:04 - 11 of 11

Got a link to this 'oily penguin' stuff?

Once again? ;-)
