They have just bought a pub near me - its the roughest seediest pub I've been in, in my life !! and trust me I've been if some ! If there choice of venues is anything to go by , I'd stay well clear. Its that rough the piano's got a bandage on its leg ! oh, the old ones are the best :-)

PUB buy in my opinion - just bought at today's bottom so far - the company is one of the few in this trade to have performed really well - and the nav is 260p! also 'Debt was cut by 1.07 billion pounds, or 24 percent. Thorley said the company bought back just over 1 billion pounds in bonds for 700 million pounds, saving the company money.' 36p divi on just over a quid share before todays over done drop!! this is a bargain imo - only way now is up once people take this in plus other good factors GL

A company with a slightly more turbulent recent history, Spirit Pub Company will reveal its maiden full-year results as a separately listed company on Thursday, after its demerger from Punch Taverns.

Spirit now handles the 900 or so core managed pubs belonging to the business, and it might prove an attractive takeover target. Meanwhile, the remainder of Punch, which is tasked with selling off a large chunk of its leased pubs over the next few years and trying to get its humongous debt pile down a little, will also release preliminary results the same day.

Has the great beer crash pummelled Punch and Spirit shares as low as they're going to go, and is there now some turnaround potential for recovery investors? Some will think so, but to me it still looks like a debt management business running some pubs on the side
