GB Group - set for further gains on Data Authentication? (GBG)

Greyhound - 23 Sep 2005 15:30

GBG's recent interims indicated an increase in customers using their Data Authentication software, URU. There are now at least 66 users in financial, gaming and telecoms. With high numbers of new users to the likes of NETeller and Partygaming, this stock looks undervalued in my opinion.

URU is used to authenticate customers - eg ensuring participants are not minors for gambling, and is already up and running for US customers.

Maybe a bid target as well?

Greyhound - 29 Nov 2005 15:09 - 2 of 12

Results due out tomorrow. I think this will show the increasing acceptance of URU as the mainstream online data authentication product. Price slowly edging higher. With BT's partnership in the UK, this could soon be taken into mainland Europe.

Data Authenication customers increased to 82. Revenue on URU up 500% on last year and double in last 6 months. This looks set to become the standard online authentication product. Gone unnoticed for too long.

Treblewide - 30 Nov 2005 10:37 - 4 of 12

yes but the majority of its business comes from outhwith URU and this has declined and looks to decline still further..increase in URU sales merely offsetting decline in other parts of the business

Greyhound - 30 Nov 2005 10:52 - 5 of 12

The DataIntegrity and DataSolutions are still profitable, albeit the funding is coming from this area for URU. It's the URU potential that I'm in for, with BT likely to take this into Europe and IF it does become the standard, likely to get bought out before too long I'd have thought.

Looks quite a diverse company offering many products within the IT industry.

Good trading statement today and take a look at the breakout from the flag formation on a 10 year chart (easier to see).

HARRYCAT - 18 Apr 2018 10:32 - 9 of 12

Probably worth trading this stock, but fundamentals (PE, Div yield etc) all put me off investing. I still think it's a sector which is going to benefit from tightening of privacy rules and AI development. No doubt this one will rocket.....without me!

cynic - 18 Apr 2018 11:03 - 10 of 12

have a look at SOPH then

HARRYCAT - 18 Apr 2018 12:26 - 11 of 12

SOPH or SPE? I follow both. Not yet invested in either.

Cheers cynic will do.
