Stakebuilding (FDBK)

northernstock - 19 Apr 2006 07:35

Mr A. Malik is building a stake, now over 6.25%. A position on the Board or a takeover perhaps? FDBK is suffering under the pension fund deficit contingency, but with stock markets rising, the fund position may be improving. Sciences in the post secondary school seeing improvement and extra funding and promotion. All in all looks like an improving situation here.

It's a nice company, but I wonder if it should be "listed"? - if things get much worse, that will be dark day for investors. Relying on a political punchbag (schools/education) is not a strong business-model IMHO. If it represented a third or less (of T/O), then it's a nice earner and should enable them to be at the cutting-edge of University research.
They should get into something with a rising-potential....such as energy, or saving energy etc.
I no-longer hold. The sp says it all.

EDIT (29Nov2010)-Apologies, it seems I'm still hold and went to their agm today - grief, many suits and precious little was said. Two shareholders spoke and nothing good IMHO. That a director has bought 450,000 (at 2p) says a lot - not a ripple on the sp.(DYOR). Yet, back in June 2007 it was 5p-ish and years before, near 50p.
Mindyou that Dir was alone and spent under 10k, so not significant in my view.
Any other comments, observations etc.
EDIT-(15Dec10)-down 9% to 1.5p mid. (someone sold only 9k5-worth)....Oh deary.
EDIT ( 1Dec2015)- Little sp change, but Co has now sold the "Instruments" and now has CT-scan software - whether they are strong enough to get customers willing to pay...remains to be seen.
