IN BRIEF: ECO rises on receipt of marketing authorisations in China

ALN

ECO Animal Health Group PLC - Surrey, England-based pet and livestock pharmaceuticals - Says it received two marketing authorisations from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in China for the use of Aivlosin water-soluble granules.

Aivlosin is used for treatment for a range of respiratory and enteric diseases in pigs and poultry.

The first approval will allow ECO to market Aivlosin water-soluble granules for the treatment of respiratory disease caused by Mycoplasma and other sensitive bacteria in chickens laying eggs for human consumption and breeding chickens.

The second approval is for swine respiratory disease.

"We are delighted to receive these important marketing authorisations for Aivlosin water-soluble granules. China is the world's largest producer of table eggs and accounts for more than a third of the world's laying birds," Chief Executive Marc Loomes comments.

He adds: "China is also the largest pork-producing country in the world and broader product label claims in the key swine respiratory disease segment will serve our business well as the market recovers in the future."

Current stock price: 172.50 pence, up 6.2% on Wednesday

12-month change: down 48%
