ALN

Airtel Africa PLC said on Tuesday it had completed the early repayment of its $505 million senior notes.

The London-based telecommunications company focused on Africa explained that the notes were originally due in March 2023 and as a result of early repayment the company will save $26.5 million in future interest payments.

Following the repayment, Airtel Africa now has $1 billion bonds remaining, due May 2024.

Shares in Airtel Africa were up 2.0% at 130.49 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
