IN BRIEF: Bank of Ireland appoints Strategy Head Spain as CFO

Bank of Ireland Group PLC - Dublin-based lender - Appoints Mark Spain as chief financial officer with effect on Thursday. Will be replacing Myles O'Grady, who will steps down on the same date after three years in the role.

Spain has been part of the bank for 24 years since 1998, first joining as client advisory director in IBI Corporate Finance. His most recent role is as chief strategy officer for three years since 2019.

‘I want to congratulate Mark Spain on his appointment as group chief financial officer and executive director. Mark is taking up this role during a transformational period for the Bank of Ireland Group. He brings to the role his depth of understanding in relation to the group's strategic and financial progress and targets, along with his significant experience in strategy development and delivery, transformation, and mergers and acquisitions,’ said Chief Executive Francesca McDonagh.
